Dayton Flyers (Official Thread)

Do they have anyone that can shoot the ball this season? That was one of the most frustrating things last season. They were fun to watch, because they played with so much energy, but they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Paul William's shot looks much better this year. He was a great shooter in high school but struggled last year after recovering from a broken foot in the fall.

Fabrizius is a flat out shooter. He is 6-8 and gained 20 pounds in the offseason. He shot pretty well last year but didn't get the minutes because he was a liability on the defensive end of the court. With his larger frame, he is able to play defense in the post this year and should get more minutes and more 3's. He hit 4 today against GA tech....all were NBA range.

Chris Johnson is stroking it this year as well. He had at least 3 bombs today.

Overall, i think UD will have a better shooting team than last year even though it is the same cast of players.

Recruitingwise....next years class may be the best class in UD history. Hopefully Wright sticks around for a 4th year.

Big comeback by Nova. If Dayton can win this one, they will really be getting some huge national attention. But win or lose, this is a lot better than playing Mason.

It's a winnable game for the Flyers... I think we match up better with Nova than GT due to GT's post presences... But we're gonna have to have better games out of MJ and CW...

So who does UD get to replace Brian Gregory?

do they go the assistant route from a Big 6 conference or seasoned veteran from another Mid Major?

Hot Rumors are the guy from St. Mary's and the guy from Morehead State. I have also heard Jeff Boals but it seems to me that UD wants a proven head coach.

There was an article a few days ago listing some potential candidates for your job and one name that stood out to me was John Groce. I think if he would be offered the Dayton job he would take it because this conference. However, there are a lot of coaches looking for jobs and if Groce went to Dayton we might lose Boals to Ohio.
