DB Dustin Fox (National Champion)

I'm also a Minnesota Vikings fan. My guess is he'll primarily back-up Sharper at free safety but they'll use him in nickle and dime situations. Kind of cool to see Winfield and Fox in the same defensive backfield. With Sharper, Winfield, Smoot, Chavous and now Fox back there.. I'm loving this D's potential.

Round 3

The Vikings last year surrendered 30 passing touchdowns, and only Dallas and Green Bay were worse in the NFC. Everything about the Vikings' pass defense was sour, including the play of a secondary that produced only eight interceptions.

Resolved to make changes, the club first struck by signing Smoot and Sharper to free-agent contracts. Then it went to the draft and found Ohio State cornerback Dustin Fox with its third-round pick.

Ohio State has a history of success with pro cornerbacks, including Minnesota's Antoine Winfield, and the Vikings think Fox joins the parade. The guy can play safety or cornerback and should improve a defense that allowed opponents to convert 46 percent of their third downs.

"We liked his versatility," said Studwell. "There was some question where we would put Dustin when he got here, but I think we'll probably try him at safety first, then work him at corner.

"He's one of those players you should be able to get into your packages and on the field right away as a special-teams player. But you can probably use him in your nickel and dime packages, too, because he has the speed to cover slot receivers as a safety and the speed to cover outside receivers as a corner. It was really a very easy pick when the time came."

i love racism. people think that troy smith can't throw accurate passes and that a 4.4 defensive back is too slow because he allowed a lot of 5 yd slant passes on the short side of the field to be completed. people think that donovan mcnabb is a scrambling QB even though a gaggle of white QB's had way more rushing yards than he did last year. people would rather believe their preconceived notions than look at the facts.

what's funny to me is that there is a 90 percent chance that jim stuckey is a buckeye fan.

i just wanted to congratulate dustin. sawhim play many times at glenoak. i'm always amazed at how openly racist people are about white players at certain positions i.e. all white wr are "possession receivers" blah, blah, blah. By the way saw in The Repository Brian Hartline ran a 4.39 and 4.41 a couple weeks ago.Yes he's that fast.

Dustin needs to hit the weights...his arms have always been skinny for his size. Not only will the weights build muscle but will help strengthen his bones.
I'm guessing you can do some, but how much weights can you lift w/ a broken arm?

My bad...
Misunderstanding someone i guess is a pretty big fine here...

Umm i'm thinkin Mili meant when his arm hasn't been broken...duhhhhh:2004:

Yes brittle bones are a huge concern in the NFL and not for cancer reasons I wouldn't think. If you take the big hit and you're out for 4-6 weeks at least...well i think the rest is pretty self-explanatory
