DB Malcolm Jenkins (All B1G, All-American, Thorpe Award, All-Pro, 2x Super Bowl Champion)

Malcom is one of my favorite, if not my #1 favorite Buckeye of all time. You could tell he loved being a Buckeye and relished every moment of his career. I am selfish and I want to watch him for years to come so I hope he goes #5 to the Browns. But they are so bad though that it would suck for him.

My favorite 2 moments are the Wisky game doing the jump around, and when he was a freshman OSU was at Minny and Maroney broke one down the sideline. Malcom closed on him like a missle and drilled him. Maroney just kind of looked at him like "D%$n...who is that kid", thats when I knew he was going to be special.

Thanks for the memories Malcom!

Todd McShay has the Browns taking him at #5.

Normally, im not a huge supporter of my Browns taking Buckeye players based on what the fans want because 90% of the "fans" aren't very intelligent and can't put their bias aside. HOWEVER, I like this pick because we really need help on the defensive side of the ball and another CB opposite of Wright will do wonders. Another CB and help amongst the LB corp will help immensely. Not to mention, our defense has a serious lack of energy and "fight" in them and we all know that Malcolm brings a WHOLE LOT of both.

I think they need a LB more, but they could certainly use a CB as well.. especially one with the versatility to play safety. He'd be a weapon on special teams as well, like he was here at OSU. Seemed like if he didn't get the block, he was getting pressure.

Malcolm will go down as one of the best in my book. Certainly one of the best I've seen in person.

I don't follow the NFL draft gurus, but in my mind, the biggest difference between an NFL Corner and an NFL Safety is in the hips. Malcolm's got the hips. It would be foolish to waste them by moving him to Safety.

That is a very good way to look at it.

It's hard to find a player with the natural Talent and ability that Malcom Jenkins has. Most NFL teams would probably use him to cover the best reciver on the field, just because of his presence. Like against Texas... how many times was he thrown to?? Twice I think, both pass breakups. The only thing Jenkins needs to watch out for is getting beat by trying to make the "big" play. He had some problems with that early at tOSU, but overcame them quickly, thee is no reason he can't do that at the next level.

BEST OF LUCK Malcolm!!!

I definitely agree we need help on the LB corp, but it really depends on who's left. If Aaron Curry is still on the board I really wouldn't mind the Browns taking him over Malcolm. But other than Curry I don't think there are any defensive players i'd take ahead of him right now if I were the Browns.

Biggest problem with taking an LB, is teaching them how to be a 3-4 linebacker. Most don't play it in college, and there is a significant learning curve.

The best DB's in the draft have a high success ratio and the learning curve isn't nearly as drastic. Malcolm is a HUGE upgrade to the CB position for the Browns, and immediately allows McDonald to slide back to Nickel. Terry Cousins was brutal this year at Nickel.

Give me Malcolm, and make our DB unit at least respectable. Use our free agency money on a big name LB who already understands the 3-4. Hope Antwaan Peek comes back healthy.

MJ update...

?I?m working out at Ohio State?just working out with the team coaches and things like that,? Jenkins said. ?Life is kind of simple for us right now, but it will get to a pretty cool place coming up soon.?

Jenkins told NBC 4 Sports? Jerod Smalley that his biggest concerns for now are staying in shape and figuring out where he will be on draft day.

?My home is in Jersey, so regardless, I?ll be close,? he said. ?I?m not sure if I?m gonna go there, if I?m invited, or stay home, but I?m pretty sure I?ll be doing something.?

He did get caught sleeping once and it resulted in a pretty nice chunk of yardage for Texas..

One of his few mistakes this year. Aside from that, he was Malcolm. Wish he could've been on two sides of the field. :(

He actually got picked on that play. He should've seen it coming but well those things will happen. Regaurdless I'd still like to see him with the Browns. We need a DB worse than a LB and if they're gonna choose a LB trade down and pick up Ray or Animal.

I thought I remembered him getting beat off the line.. could be wrong though.

Doesn't matter. One bad play that game and it didn't result in a TD. Can't really ask for more from a CB. Usually mistakes result in highlights.

Got beat vs. Michigan, but caught up and made the play.

haha you know a dude is good when we are struggling to find one error this season.

and on that play he let the receiver release b/c he was in zone, and thought he had help over th etop. When he saw Russell not coming over to help, he kicked it into high gear and made the break-up.

He's a remarkable player, and the #1 rated corner coming into the draft has had a VERY high success rate. That bodes well for Malcolm, and hopefully proves we aren't just a bunch of blind homers.
