He definately has the frame to add lbs to. The guy is skinner than some of our Safeties. 2 offseasons in our S&C program and he could be a beast out there. If this LB class plays out right [Homan, Gibson, Moeller and Bouman], it could be just what the doctor ordered for our long-term depth issues.

I think it is a sham that Hunter was rated ahead of Gibson. Gibson not only has the better upside and discipline, but was much more impressive on video. The first two on the list are hard to deny, but my list would have looked like this:

1. Allen Bradford
2. Marcus Ball
3. Akeem Hebron
4. Thad Gibson
5. Michael Morgan
6. Anthony Lewis
7. A.J. Jones
8. Derrick Odom
9. Chasman Davis
10. Bani Gbadyu

Hunter would have been somewhere between 11 and 15...

Call me crazy but I would put McCarthy in the top 10 even though rivals does him no justice.

I honestly like McCarthy better at strong safety...and yes Rivals and Scout haven't really done him any justice so far.

I think a good test score and solid senior season and Thad breaks the top 5.

From Rivals.com...Thad's coach is trying to get him to cut it down to five schools. He says OSU and Miami will definitely make that five. His mother favors Miami. He likes OSU and Iowa.

that was an interesting read. said his coach would like him to decide before the season starts. TG says that he should have an answer by the end of the season.
the interesting part though is that his mom is planning on relocating to wherever he chooses, which is why she favors Miami (palm trees & warm weather he said). he also says that he hasn't heard from Miami since school let out. wonder why he's keeping them on his list... maybe it's a nod to tOSU being the clear overall favorite...

She can love Miami all she wants but he has no offer from them. It has also been reported that she like scUM. Anyways I think he is a buckeye all the way. In an interview on BN I'm pretty certain he said he is almost sure he wants to be at tOSU.

Let me clarify......

Not based on any information, just a general feeling that Gibson is looking for any reason not to go to Ohio State.....FWIW. I am aware of the interview, I just think the longer this goes on the less chance Ohio State has, I have been wrong in the past and hopefully I will be in this case.

Interesting, all of the pseudo-insiders that I have read quotes from have said that he is as close to a lock to OSU as there is. You are the first to say otherwise.

My understanding is that his offer is contigent on grades anyway. If he doesnt clean his house up at school, he wont be going to OSU anyway.

i think thaddeus is coming to ohio state. he turned down interest from USC to stay closer to home. Why would he leave to go anywhere else? what can any other college offer him that we cant? playing time, national title hopes?
