DL Adam Bellamy (R.I.P.)

Great to see that he 'remade' himself on the DL. I agree that he was in or around alot of plays, ergo the announcers mentioned his name alot. Hopefully he continues to contribute this year, and earns himself a date with the NFL combine, and subsequently the pay-for-pay league.

With two starters graduated and Nathan Williams out since the first game with a knee injury, Ohio State?s defensive line needed young players to develop quickly this season. Adam Bellamy certainly has. After helping Aurora High School to the state championship in 2008, Bellamy redshirted the next year and was a little-used reserve last year. But he has blossomed this year. He has been credited with 14 tackles, including an important sack against Wisconsin. Not bad for someone born in Scotland and whose first sport growing up in Massachusetts wasn?t football.

Q: Tell me about your upbringing.

A: I was actually born in Scotland in the United Kingdom. My mom and dad went over there for my dad?s work. He?s a computer engineer. Me and my sister were born out there. When I was 5, I moved to central Mass. I started playing hockey when I was 6.

He's certainly coming into his own.

Imagine if Nate comes back healthy next year, we could have a mid 90's Florida State type of defensive line situation with 8 guys able to rotate and do serious damage.

Love the way things are looking up front for sure.

Pretty sure Nate will be back, it's Simon I'm worried about. Hopefully he'll stay and move up the draft charts next year.

You say you aren't taking a shot at him but your first paragraph reads differently.

Difference between Bellamy and you is that Bellamy is a STUDENT-athlete/ Him being a student and maturing in life issues are more important than his athletics and your Saturday entertainment. You are a grown adult bounded by some contract to work the hours set fourth by leadership.

im not saying that adam bellamy made a fake excuse to leave the team...if it came across that way(and it seems that it did) than i am sorry...i did not mean to make him out to be some sort of liar....

i was merely trying to make a joke about how i was going to lie to my boss to get out of work on the first...i worked all damn summer..i just want one saturday off

once again...sorry..and it probably was the wrong thread to post it in...

Bellamy not at OSU right now, hopefully will return to team
FROM STAFF REPORTS

Defensive lineman Adam Bellamy has left Ohio State's football team for personal reasons, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Bellamy had been absent from recent practices and was also not present for the team photo and media day on Aug.19.

Speaking Aug. 18 before the announcement from the team, defensive line coach Mike Vrabel said:

"Adam is working through some personal family matters right now and when he gets that taken care of, we will welcome him back with open arms. We miss him in our [meeting] room and when Adam gets those things taken care of he's going to be able to come back."

Bellamy, a fourth-year junior, played in 26 games in his OSU career, including 10 as a starter. Last season, Bellamy recorded 25 tackles in a reserve role for the Buckeyes.

Difference between an EXCUSE and a REASON.

There is a REASON why Adam left the team (and from Coach Vrabel's comment about welcoming him back with open arms, it must be a good reason.)

You need to come up with an EXCUSE to have the next two Saturdays off work.

(Not that watching the Bucks is a bad reason...or excuse.) :)
