DL Chris Carter, Jr. (Official Thread)

Before the Mickey diet:

I think Carter's body type transformation has less to do with Mickey Marotti and more to do with "Miss Sarah" Wick. She's the one laying down the hardline with the girlfriends and families with meal plans and offering cooking classes.

Huh. Maybe he feels there is no more development to be had at this level?

I really want to see him get some PT against scUM and whomever our bowl opponent is. The kid can clog the interior lanes and that's something we're going to need a ton of against Wisky.
Hopefully he can have a great showing the next few opportunities.

Maybe it isn't his call.

Not a fan of pulling ships - but no reason you should get 5 years if you are not contributing.

I'm a little disappointed that Big Hungry won't be back for his 5th year. I know he hasn't played a lot, but he was in there at some key moments against MSU, which tells me the coaching staff still believed in him. Like Buckeneye mentioned, hopefully he gets some key moments in the last few games.

We might want to keep this in mind more generally, especially given the concerns regarding recruiting numbers, space, etc.

Tony Underwood has announced this will be his final season in scarlet & gray. We might also want to keep an eye on Chase Farris, Devan Bogard (), Kyle Dodson, Trey Johnson, and Camren Williams.

Would he be allowed to transfer to another D-1 and play immediately... if he didn't graduate

I could see him transfer to Akron and play with a number of other ex-Buckeyes

I think the rules of the transfer program within D1 requires, A) completion of undergraduate degree and B) new program offers a program you enroll in that is not offered at your previous school.

With the big thing now being the guaranteed 4 year scholarship, it's exactly that. They are fully committed to you for 4 years if you do the right things. A 5th year should only come if you're a contributing player. And really there should be no disappointment from the student athlete or a fan feeling it's unfair. Assuming they took care of business, they are a college graduate, alumni of tOSU, and alumni of tOSU football team. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
