Your ISP will then send you a nasty gram saying that if you don't stop, they are going to disable P2P on you, if you are caught again, the RIAA will send a second nasty gram and the ISP has the right to take action to protect their company.

I have already seen that a lot of ISP's have started blocking P2P transfers as well as sites like piratebay.org, so it's just a matter of time until people move back to something like usenet for their transfers, though the convience of torrents is nice, and of course, it will remain around for porn.

Nice input. I wonder if it will force more letters to be sent out now? Just curious to the soon to be comparable percentages.

I would be stunned to see (insert famous maker company ie itunes),and it not be available on torrent or direct download links(rapidshare,megaupload,megashare etc). There is a converting program for any file extention(although,I can personally remember having some problems with REAL media from realplayer).

I bought a rapidshare premium account. I actually had 12 at once,but the problem with the pirated accounts was everyone was sucking them dry. There is a secure lock option,that can only be turned off by email that you can't access.Which for one user is great,but otherwise is shit with thousands of users with access to the account.

If you have used rapidshare before you probably know,that it's basically a giant shared hd on the net. There are search engines,and you have access anything uploaded.It has unlimited speed,and unlimited simultaneous connects. I am on roadrunner and can get 800-900kbs downloads with basic (free)rapidshare.Torrent speed of course varied with peers and ISP,but never was that high before,and wouldn't stay at a high constant. This is great for things like 1080i blu ray downloads. Some of those are 20 gig downloads. When you have a torrent with flucuating amounts of users,it's a pain in the ass to move that much data.

There are a few REALLY informative(think pirate,but organized,and more private) sites,that deal with direct download links with torrents being a secondary option.The site also has movies that are "M-HD".They are high quality (1080's,720's or will be stated otherwise) compressed using the x264codec. They are only 300mb downloads. Even with a free rapidshare thats a really quick for full download of a higher quality movie.

The only time I use torrents are to grab the latest episodes of something on regular tv. The night of the sitcom is usually flooded with peers.High speeds,and when you are finished you can make a nice,cheap "season",if you saved all the episodes.

so this guy at work wanted a place to download music. i told him i use torrents to get music, and sent him this guide from lifehacker:

on it it recommends piratebay amongst others... i get to work this morning and here is the email i get...

I woke up this morning and I have been sick and I go into my husbands office for comfort. And one of the website that you gave him to download music, has pictures of women in swim suits in very unprofessional pictures. I am married and don't appreciate this type of emails being referred to my husband and then for me to see it.

I would appreciate you only giving him websites that don't have this type of material on it.

The real question is what kind of "comfort" was she looking to find by sneaking onto his computer while he was at work?

Personally I would have replied to the email with a link to voyeurweb.
