DT Dexter Larimore (official thread)

Scout $

11/2

Dexter is considering tOSU, Michigan, and Indiana. He only wants to play defense and likes tOSU's attacking style as coompared to Michigan's read and react D-line. Dexter is waiting for his official visits to see how he fits with the team and coaches.

I think we get him after his official...Rose and Larimore as the DTs in this class is fine with me...

I like that we get the last visit...he's already been on an official so he knows what game day in Columbus is like, so the staff can focus on giving Dexter some personal attention and focusing on things like the academics and facilities and where they see him fitting in on the team.

MERRILLVILLE — Chaos was all around him. Teammates were rolling around on the ground. Coaches were chest-bumping cheerleaders. Fans huddled and hopped at midfield.

But Merrillville’s Dexter Larimore wasn’t jumping. Wasn’t hootin’, wasn’t hollerin’. Wasn’t even smiling.

He simply inhaled deeply.

“Too tired,” he said softly.

It was about the only thing he did softly all night.

Larimore and the Pirates defense beat previously undefeated Crown Point at its own game Friday night in an exhilarating 16-13 victory to win the Class 5A Sectional 1 championship before a raucous, overflow crowd estimated at 8,000 at Demaree Stadium.
Merrillville (10-2) travels to Penn (10-2) next week for a rematch of last year’s regional, which the Kingsmen won handily, 31-0.

To clarify: Even though it is after the end of the regular season, the first weekend in December is traditionally Ohio State's biggest recruiting weekend of the year. Typically, the staff brings in many of the early verbals and several top uncommited targets, hoping that the committed players can "sell" the undecideds on Ohio State. If all goes well, look for about a dozen visitors that weekend.

that may depend. if colerain and glenville make a state title run, it may get pushed back to the following weekend. but the general premise is true.

Rivals $ (Indiana)

11/8

Dexter enjoyed his IU visit and was hosted by Chauncey Incarnato. He discussed the same three schools and reasons he likes each of them. Dexter commented that Michigan is telling him he can contribute right away while Ohio State is telling him he can become a major player in a few years.

My take: Based on his past comments, Dexter loves the tOSU defensive style but the mention of early playing time at Michigan is appealing. Too close to call right now.
