Two-way lineman Shawntel Rowell became the first Glenville player from this year's senior class to give The Ohio State University his oral commitment.

He did so Monday afternoon, less than 24 hours after making an official visit to the University of Illinois. He visited the Buckeyes two weekends ago.

"I had a good visit at Illinois, but I feel Ohio State is right for me," said Rowell. "I'm from Ohio, so that's where I belong."

Welcome to the family man. And the pipeline rolls on. Smart kid, he realizes where the talent is. Good to see he put forth the effort into loosing all that weight and he got rewarded. That shows good work ethic. I hope he's able to keep the weight off and become a bulldog up front. I applaud the coaching staff for coming through with an offer after all I've heard about his offer being dependent on grades and weight reduction. He still looks 325 in some of GHS's playoff pictures. I think the coaches wanted him down to 300. Does anyone know where he is at currently? Obviously it was good enough for the OSU coaching staff so it's good enough for me. Another big body up front, gotta like that. Makes me wonder if we're loosing ground on some of the other D-line guys the staff has been after?

I love it. He could come in and be our biggest DT on the roster. Hahaha...

Now, we have a legitimate roster to run a 3-4 in 2008. :P

I was actually wondering the same thing (although not really as early as 2008). A 3-4 is a waste of time unless you have a nose guard who can take on two o-linemen. I can't imagine the Bucks making that switch, but crazier things have happened.
