The analyst they had on with Erin Andrews covering the press conference. I had to look him up. He has called games on ABC/ESPN and he played at Washington in the late 80s and early 90s. Given the presence of Erin Andrews, I didn't pay much attention to him, then he started talking and I switched to Big Ten Network. I should ding myself for watching ESPiN when they are covering Ohio State, trying to find someone competent and neutral on ESPiN on Ohio State is harder than finding a needle in a haystack.

I remember he was the commentator when we played NC State in C-Bus. He was as close to openly rooting for NC State to win as I have ever seen a major network announcer*. He comes off as a know-it-all and I believe he has a strong dislike for OSU. Nothing to back that up just my distaste for him from that broadcast and other times I have heard his "analysis."

* Other than Dan "Bad Call Keith" Fouts of course......

I doubt Erin Andrews will be staying over night in the Blackwell hotel.

Try a specific needle in a pile of needles.

If ESPN finds a pile of needles I'm going to be very disa... ah, fuck it.

In most of the games of ours that I've seen him call he's been pretty complimentary of OSU, especially Tressel.

He also did the OSU vs UW game in 2007 and was very complimentary.

Just depends on the scriptwriters I guess.

Back to Fickell, given the censored debacle that the last few press conferences have been, I thought this was one went really well. To draw a politics connection, you need to be able to stay on message, and Fickell did just that the entire time. Also, this press conference gave me as a fan something to be optimistic about and that is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, he called that game, and it's always the first thing I think of when I hear his name or see his face - it was really a sad performance by a biased commentator.

The best thing I can say is that he hasn't managed to sink that low since then.

He did the '03 NC State 3OT game. I'd tell you to watch/listen to that game again, but I don't hate you.

edit: I see that's already been covered

This

But he was off his game today. Pretty naive to think that Luke would lay out a long term plan. And second, Luke doesn't owe him or ESPin anything about what his plans with HIS team are.
