I wonder if Coach Fickell will be allowed to add someone to the staff to take over his responsibilities since he now has much more on his plate than they did prior to JT's termination.

I hate to say this because I was not one to bash our play calling in the past but.....I wouldnt mind seeing a tweek on our offensive philosophy

If this team finishes 6-6, there's no reason to field another team. There isn't a reason in the world that a team with as much talent as Ohio State has coming into this year should ever finish 6-6. Sure we never thought that in 2004, but things are different. In 04, the QB competition was in full effect. Now, it's a competition who starts the first 5 games. This team will win plenty of game this season (I'm not giving a record prediction), and will probably win the Big Ten regular season title and Championship Game.

Wisconsin won't be the same as last year, MSU just looks flukey, and I'm really not all that afraid of Nebraska who underachieved in the Big 12 North (which is comparable to the Big East IMO). I say bring on this season.

I hope this team scores 100+ every time they are on the field, to show the anger they have.

Nervous about this, but hopeful.

I hope he does well and starts off with a Big 10 CCG and a win over Michigan.

Does anyone know if him being the true head coach in 2011-2 will change the offensive/defensive schemes? Will he make any coaching changes?

It will be interesting to see the changes Luke will make now that it is "his" team. He should certainly be able to hire another coach and it will be interesting to see what direction he goes in.

I think the longer term changes will be determine after the season. If Luke is successful he will probably be retained. Will Bollman look to retirement? What happens with Doc Tressel? I would imagine that there will be a couple major changes along the Offensive side of the ball.

Here's hoping Luke the best. I think that he will do a good job and make everyone proud.

Once the penalties come down, and inevitable loss of scholarships this will change. It will take a big-time, big-name coach to bring immediate success back to our Buckeyes.

What's tough to calculate is the timing.

We know the University's response is this month, Tress' hearing is in August, and expect the NCAA response around November (as we've seen with other schools). Appeals and so forth could go into next summer.

However, if there are new allegations, then that investigation/LOA/University response/hearing/appeal could push well into the future.

In other words, we might be in recruiting (and coach hiring) limbo for a bit.
