Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

Late to the party, as usual.

It's been a rough week. Lydia was my go-to partner until some whore of a wispmother killed her for real. I didn't even know it could happen. I finally finished the bitch off and was waiting for her to reappear....nothing. Start back towards where I last saw her and she was facedown in the snow. Dead for good. It was a long-ass walk back to town -- especially with all of the stuff I had her carrying for me. :(

So I grabbed Golldir from his family tomb. He lasted about a day until we ran into my first Centurion, where I promptly sent him to his death. Oops.

People should stop following me.

I had to go back and reload several times to save her. I have finished the game, but as far as I know she is still upstairs at Breezehome eating some bread. As soon as you walk in the door, you can hear her eating. Always thought that was pretty amusing. She was too hot to let die, plus she was carrying too much of my expensive gear.
As soon as I finish Tomb Raider, I believe Dragonborn is next on the agenda. Gotta love Skyrim. More entertainment value for my dollar than any game I've played IMO.

Between Skyrim and the new GTA I'm going to be enjoying my 360 well into the next generation of console's lifespans which will hopefully drop the prices pretty significantly by the time I am tempted to buy one.

I ended up finishing the civil war and dragon quest lines (along with pretty much every other one as far as I could tell) awhile back with a pretty standard Nord character that tanked and beat the hell out of everything with standard weapons.

I'm interested in going back and starting a more evil mage/thief character with a different race which will hopefully get me back into the game for quite awhile by experimenting with different characters and styles (as well as sides in the civil war).

The Vilja mod is pretty awesome. She has her own quests and lots of unique dialogue, almost like Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite. You can ask her to talk less if you like. From the way she keeps calling me cute, though, I think she'll be disappointed when I hook up with Brynjolf.

My dad bought this game last summer for the 360 and I finished all the quests in the game then. This was before any of the expansion stuff came out. Maybe the vampire thing was just coming out. I enjoyed it so much I bought it for my PC and after I got bored of Diablo III, I decided to start it up again. I've finished all of the major quest lines with the exception of the Dark Brotherhood, and I will probably spent the $$ on the expansion stuff now, with the possible exception of Hearthfire. I don't really use my houses for much of anything but as an armory and for enchanting weapons and armor. I will Probably raid the Bards college as well eventually to stock my library, but that is not high on my list priorities. I am wondering though, if anyone can provide any advice on the mods that are out there as far as new places/quests/NPC's. Are there any that are worth looking into? I would like to stay away from stuff that is buggy and will just frustrate and annoy me. Suggestons?

I got a kick out of "I'm sworn to carry your burdens...." -- the irony of carrying all of that shit back down the mountain wasn't wasted on me.

I don't know how many hours I have put in so far -- 50+ I'd guess? And I haven't even gone to any major cities other than Whiterun. With as thorough as I am trying to be, this may be the only game I ever play on the Xbox.

I did everything but the military campaign with my original character, so other than that and the new DLC quests, this new one is taking it pretty easy. Smack down a few baddies and then run around enjoying pretty views and the music.

I saved the military campaign for the end as well. It was pretty underwhelming considering my character was immune to all but the strongest dragons at that point.

Moonpath to Elsweyr on steam is worth checking out.

Have you done the one with the talking dog?

No, although I think I may have wandered into that location recently.
(They gave me the option to talk the dog, so I tried, it barked a couple times, the man in the house told me I needed to leave. So I left. Is that the one?)

I started Boethiah's Calling yesterday, but I'm thinking that I may just kill the cultists instead of doing what they want.

I also went through Frostflow Lighthouse. I don't know why, but that one really bothered me.

Were you outside of Falkreath? If so that was probably the one, but I think you have to speak to a certain human NPC before the dog actually starts talking to you.

Unless you're a completist, just skip that one. The quest has some good rewards, but that dog is the fucking worst thing in the entire game.

Oh, this house must be something different then. I do have the open quest to find the dog outside of Falkreath.

Unfortunately, I am intending to do everything I can, so, yeah.....at least I have something to look forward to now!

Also, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I am collecting and hoarding things like nobody's business. I have 48000 gold, and I'm still collecting iron daggers to sell. Sometimes making 2-3 trips back to the dungeon to collect even more shit to sell. By the time I'm "done" with this game I'm going to have so much gold and so many gems. It's going to be fabulous.
