(ESPN) Buckeyes could break NFL draft day record

My argument isn't about what what he accomplished on the field or not. My argument is that he isn't a "true" Buckeye because of his off-field antics. I say we just leave it alone, neither of us is going to convince the other.

I can't believe I agree with Nixon.

On Topic - The O line wasn't that bad last year, the problem was the production of the RBs. Look at the pass blocking, which, in my opinion was pretty good. Most of the pro offenses focus more on the passing game, so it isn't a suprise that our graduating O-Linemen would be selected.

I'm still not sold on the smaller quicker linemen that we seem to be focused on recruiting - As was stated earlier, we have had success over the past 100 years by running the ball, and a power running game requires size and power over speed.

Leverage, aggressiveness, and quickness are just as important is size and power. I want linemen that are quick enough to beat the ball carrier to the point of attack on a run play, especially on sweeps, traps, etc. I want linemen that rely more on aggressiveness and technique to finish their blocks rather than purely on their size. Everybody in the trenches on both sides of the ball is big. the ones who win the battles are the ones who do their job better, not the one tips the scales the most. Finally, I want linemen who, after finishing their first block, a conditioned well enough to move on to the second and third levels and make blocks. I don't want linemen who are two big to keep their balance when they block, or are totally gassed 2 seconds into the play. I can't say that I think our new line fits all of those criteria yet, but I think this year will be a step in the right direction compared to last year.

Hear Hear!! Minnesota neither had the biggest, nor the strongest Oline in the Country last year, but they DID rush for 3,759 yards last year, at a 5.5 YPC clip... good enough fot THIRD in the Nation... and this was largely due to outstanding TECHNIQUE... IIRC, they rushed for well over 400 yards against scUM, which was an all time high for a scUM opponent... this is the same scUM that tOSU managed to squeek out a measly 54 net rushing yards against...
