I don't really like giving somebody from up north a paint-by-numbers on how to blend in w/ Buckeye fans,
Sorry you feel that way. I am not trying to "blend in," I don't seem to blend in with any group. I like to form my own opinions, I am just curious how long time OSU fans feel about certain things.

The fact that he played for the Clippers is irrelevant. If you are actually in Columbus for grad school like you profess, then you should know that nobody gives a crap about the Clippers.
I didn't say that I am in Columbus, I said I was going to be next fall. I have been to Columbus three times, once to visit the law school and twice to visit my grad program. I don't know anything about what people in Columbus like or don't like, other than that I assume they love OSU and hope they love the Bluejackets.

I simply cannot wait to see NHL hockey whenever I want. You cant get tickets to the Joe, and the place is full of Red Wing fans, I don't know why anyone would WANT to go unless the Avs are there playing.

But at Nationwide, there are still tickets available for Jackets-Avs on April 2nd, and I am PUMPED to get to see my boys play for the first time since 1997. Sucks that they will have to whoop on my 2nd favorite team in their own arena, but that's life.

ex-wolverine - Welcome aboard. So, are you a scUM fan or have you converted to the Buckeyes? What does "ex" mean?
I posted another thread earlier.

Grew up a UM fan, went to UM, hated the school and the people, apathetic toward their athletics, applied to OSU for grad school, got in, have been treated wonderfully, love the campus and the town, hatred for UM makes being an OSU fan a great fit. Have converted girlfriend to OSU fan and future grad student as well. UM friends pissed, refer to me as a "traitor."

No hard feelings, as they mentioned in your other thread, you'll have to put up with some smart-ass remarks and ribbing until we get to know you better. If you had hidden your past from us, you probably would've been welcomed much more warmly by people like me. Add that to the fact that most new members here are actually émigrés from other boards are "known" by members of this site, that means it's going to take a little while longer than most before some of us skeptics are convinced. Just stop by often, say nice things, and show you care about the Bucks, and things will go great.

Sorry, read your other thread second. You are no "traitor" here. Congrats! You are better off here anyway.

BTW:

I will always love Clarett and what he did in the short time here. He is just a little misguided.

Who is Drew Henson? JK

Green.

Ex-"weasel",

With comments like:

"I went to UM and found that it was nothing like the utopia I thought it would be. Ann Arbor is a toilet, the people are stuck up and snotty, and the school is a hellhole. The place is so intensely liberal that one cannot go through the middle of campus to get to class without being harrassed about how evil white people, men, Christians, and heterosexuals are. I couldn't wait to leave."

You're more than welcome on this board

Killer has been known to rant from time to time, don't mind him (if you hate scUM more than he loves OSU, you have some big-time hatered... he's been known to actually get sick after a Buckeye loss... not kidding, he is a budy of mine, he has actually puked after a Buckeye loss... the MSU loss that cost us the NC to be exact).

"Let me sit in the Horseshoe and see some fans who actually care about the game and make some noise, and maybe even that will change."... Don't worry you will see just that, you have mt word on that!!!

Oh, and welcome to the board.

1. MoC is a Buckeye... I wish him the best (he does however need to grow up at some point in his life though).
2. I don't like any scUM player, period
3. green

Regarding Steinbrenner... his wife was born and raised in Columbus (Upper Arlington to be exact), and recieved her undergrad degree from OSU. He is from Cleveland (played ball at Northwestern... got used to losing to the bucks  ), and did live in Columbus at one point (some of his/her family own hotels here in Columbus). He has a Box in the Shoe (and the Schott for that matter). He did donate a large sum of money to build the band room (he asked what he could help with, was told the band needed money for the new band room in the shoe, he asked how much, they told him, he paid it), the room is now named after his wife. They do have family in Columbus as well. He spends each 4th of July in Columbus (not that you cared, but figured I'd share :) ).

You will enjoy your time in Columbus, it truely is a GREAT city! Buy those BJ tickets quick. Most games are sellouts or real close to being soldout. The Redwings, Av's, Penn's, and Preditor games are the ones that are always sold out. If you have yet to go to a BJ game, get ready to be impressed! It is a very fun and exciting venue (even with a home team that is young, and loses alot).

Grew up in BG, also think that Toledo is a toilet and can't stand Ann Arbor as well. Ugly women is an understatement, liberalism runs rampade and getting people let loose and have a good time is almost impossible in my experience there as a visitor.(My buddy was in the honors program with a bunch of people that couldn't have fun everywhere.)

1) Will remember Clarett for helping us win a NC on the field. Will also remember that since then he has been a cancer and a distraction to the team ever since. I wish him the best of luck but I believe that he will be an average player unless he overcomes personal issues and injuries.

2) Always feared Henson, thought that he was one of the best to play there and glad that we didn't have to face him more than once. Wish him the best in the league.

3) Thought the stickers were green and black...could be wrong.

Re: Steinbrenner, there was a story in the DDN IIRC about how he was at the opener against UW where he said he tries to make it to all the games he can. He was recognized by the band at the Skull Session before the Purdue game this year as well.

What the hell does imaturity have to do with anything.

Look if you feel strongly about something you are going to look imature, or different, or backwards, whatever.

I will tell you this, I hate scUM, for the Fab Five Fellons for taking away a final four from us. I hate scUM for ruining National Championships that Ohio State should have had in 1969, 1993, 1995, 1996, and 2003 and several more I have forgotten I am sure.

I hate that damned fightsong.

The University as you say is a breeding ground for intellectual incompetence. Not that most Universities are not following the scUM lead, which they get from East Coast schools.

Really Get over yourself with your, "it may make my butt look big attitude". That is the type of arrogance I would expect from a scUMer, apparently even and "ex"-scUMer

I'm a Fat Ass now and I don't really care what it makes me look like, it's something you would never understand. Lots of schools hate scUM. MScUm hates them, Minnesota, Wisconsin. You have lots of schools to chose from. How Does Green or Maroon look on you?

Ofcourse scUM as a University (as you put it) has never done anything to me personally, but I am not such a dumb ass to even think about attending scUM.

Look I don't want to be the A-hole here, but please accept that you don't sound like, nor write like an Ohio State fan, a small argument could be made that you are a scUM hater, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend. So in the intrest of buring the hatchet, welcome, but please don't confuse yourself with a buckeye fan, maybe someday you will reach that level. I have understood that conversion is a process.

Hey, Ex-W********: Welcome to the Buckeye Nation! Good start on your posts. Just remember that there will always be those who bleed more scarlet and gray than you do, so expect some ribbing along the way.

BTW, Ann Arbor has a few redeeming qualities, most notably Zingerman's Deli.

Some things that it is important for you to know:

1. Just know that, even tho some of us on this board disagree on other things, the one glue that holds us together is the fact that we are Buckeye fans. We will die Buckeye fans. To be anything other than Buckeye fans will never cross our minds. To help you better understand this, I suggest you read two threads;

a. Sticky: Sound Off (Reference Locker)
b. Most hated fans (Open Discussion)

2. Change your name from "Ex-Wolverine". First, because you never were. A scUMerine would NEVER put on anything Ohio State. And second, every time I see the name, a chill runs through my body.

3. If at any time you feel that you may defend scUM in any way, you truly are at the wrong site. KillerNut put into words what is in most of our hearts in your first thread. :oh: :io:

I too, am new to this forum. Found it the other day, and am glad I did. I should fit right in. I hate "that team up north" with a passion! I feel only hatred in my heart for that school as a whole. :tongue2:

I just recently moved out of state...to Plattsmouth, Nebraska. This place is a hole in the middle of nowhere. You have Omaha, (a million people) and Bellevue, a good size city. It's funny, I'm from Steubenville, Ohio, and there isnt even 10 cities in all of Nebraska that are as big. You look at a map that shows population, and you see towns with populations in the single digits. There are tons of cornfields here that size though.

Anyway...hopefully being a member of this board will be as cool as it looks like it will be. :osu:

I'm replying to only one thing..Clarett. His freshman year i Liked him. Now...I think about what could have been. I do not like Clarett. I do not wish him th best. He had the rule where you couldn't go to the NFL until you were out of high school for 3 years overturned. Now a lot of people want to leave too early. I just can't see an 18 year old's body physically being ready for the NFL. This could end up having a big impact on college football, with kids leaving early.
