Are there limits on the # of transfers you can make week-to-week or all season?

Yes. One free transfer per each gameweek, but you can use as many as you'd like, however, you will be deducted four points for each transfer you make past the free one in the same game week. As Thursby alluded to, you also get two Wildcard's, one for the first half of the season up until January 1st & the 2nd from January 1st until the transfer window closes February 1st. These are literally a clean house card that let's you pretty much demolish your entire team with as many transfers as you'd like. I literally created an entire new team both times I used mine last season.

Your initial team is absolutely vital as you'll want to wait as long as possible before using your first Wildcard, because you won't have the opportunity again until January 1st. I used mine in like Gameweek 4 or 5 last season & I was one of the last to use mine the first time around. Last season was my first doing it & I had a blast with it in the end. My team started off great, but completely crumbled around late October, early November & I began to plummet from the summit. It was incredibly frustrating as I'd already used my Wildcard & my guys weren't doing squat. I made a HUGE turnaround the 2nd half of the season, but it was too little too late as Thursby was unstoppable with Gareth Bale at the end even though I had RVP.

Another feature is the Captain/Vice-Captain tool. You pick a guy to be your Captain & Vice-Captain each week, with the Captain getting the points he accrued that Gameweek doubled (Thursby used this to perfection with Bale as we went banana's at the end of the season). The Vice-Captain will assume the double points in the case the Captain doesn't end up playing that gameweek (Injuries mainly, but mostly midweek games or weekend games after European competition midweek).

Just keep in mind your team has to be selected by Kickoff of the first game of the Gameweek. You can't make any changes after that point, which is the one facet of this game I highly dislike considering you have no idea if your guys are even going to play in the later games, or the next day(s). This is what makes it vital that you really pay attention to injuries & squad selection. Going along this point, you'll want to have your bench players in order of rank as well. If one of your players doesn't play, they will put the first guy in your bench order in your lineup automatically to fill his place.

Going along even that point, you have the option to choose what formation you would like to use as well & that's important to this because you can't have too few, or too many players at certain positions. One goalie maximum. Minimum Defenders is three & the maximum is five. Minimum Midfielders is two & the maximum is five. Mimimum Forwards is one & the maximum is three. Bench order will reflect this as well if they have to to take your 2nd ranked player to put in because your number one ranked player's position was at the maximum for the week. Just something to keep in mind.

Scoring, well you'll have to look that up because it would take me forever to explain how the scoring works. It's different for every position & that will determine your formation strategy. I used a 3-4-3 virtually all last season & it really only works out well if you have good goalscorers as forwards. The Bonus points are also important to keep in mind as if your player finishes as one of the top 3 players of the match (Three for 1st, two for 2nd & one for third) you'll get points on top of what else he achieved. I kept Taarabt on my team solely because of this (He was extremely cheap as well), he always got me those bonus points even if he didn't score or get an assist.

Very long I know, but if you read this, this is basically all you need to know minus looking up the scoring.

Thanks...I actually went back in and made a few changes after you posted this.

That makes five now. We need some more to make this interesting. Jake, who didn't know a thing about the EPL going into last season was in 1st place for about half the season, so that should alleviate some concerns about not knowing anything about this if you're on the fence about it.

That's right!

Wait...what?

I'll probably do worse this year because I actually think I know a little about it, now.
