Mitchell's out of Cleveland is solid.

My wife and I were down south last fall and grabbed some ice cream from a local place. Supposedly great. Her's was rather generic and mine had freezer burn. I have yet to find a good ice cream shop south of the Mason Dixon Line. I have to be looking in the wrong places.

Twistee Treat in the Orlando area, specifically the one on 535 just outside and north of the Disney entrance on that road. I think they serve Blue Bell for their scooped kind, but generous servings and they still have the good FlavorBurst (of 90s McDonalds fame) for soft serve. There’s another local place that I believe makes their own, but I can’t recall the name and I have yet to go (there’s a Twistee Treat and Culver’s across from my apartment).

Mitchell's is our go to for overpriced really good ice cream in the Cleveland area. Best rocky road I've ever had. Handel's was also pretty good, but seems to be trending downward. My wife spreads the love around to most of the store brands depending what's on sale, but Breyers is icey garbage that she wouldn't take even if they were giving it away. I don't discriminate against flavors but prefer options with chocolate, PB, or caramel as ingredients.

That place is still open?! Remember their frozen custard from the 60s-70s.
Yep.. multiple stands now but best one is still near the airport & Rubber Bowl

My first house was down the street (mid 70s)
so I was an extension of their marketing program pre-internet
Lots of calls "what's the flavors today"
I always knew because I was coaching baseball and passed it every day.
