So anyway, my dad (he's old) and I meet on 5th Avenue in Grandview every week. We can never decide on where to eat, because we don't really care.

This next week it shall be Penn Station.

If it sucks, I will relentlessly troll @Thump for two weeks.

Jimmy John's is just a half step up from Subway. Both of them, you get just one or two thin strips of pre-sliced/measured meat on it.
My pecking order is:

Jersey Mike's
Grinders
Jason's Deli
Potbellies
Lenny's
Firehouse
Wich Wich
Jimmy Johns
Subway

I miss Penn Station. They were all over the place in NE Ohio when I lived there. "East Coast Subs" was their tag line and their Italian is, in my IMO, how that sandwich should be done. Now I live on the actual East Coast and not a Penn Station around. None of the local places makes a sub (or 'grinder' as they're called here) that's even close to what they do, which is surprising. Discovered DiBellas Subs. If you get the "Godfather," have them toast it, put on the veggies, don't forget the banana peppers and oil and vinegar, you get pretty coast to a Pen Station sub.

Surprised no one has mentioned Quizno's as far as chains go. Here in Hawaii, there's only Subway (all over the place) and a couple Quizno's. I finally got to try Firehouse last year while visiting my mom in Florida and it was really good. I'd like to try Jersey Mike's and Jimmy Johns.

Jimmy Johns is the shit. Italian Night Club w/extra peppers. Legit.

Firehouse is trash. Tried it three times. Their ham tastes like pure fucking sugar.

Jersey Mikes is good. Surprisingly, Creno's pizza makes a damn good Italian sub.
