FL OL Jordan Seaton (Colorado Signee)

JORDAN SEATON

Not much has changed with Seaton since last month’s edition of the Heat Check. The IMG Academy product is still Ohio State’s most coveted target on the recruiting trail, and he’s one the Buckeyes have at least a legitimate chance at landing, though Alabama probably should be considered the leader right now. Seaton plans on taking an official visit to OSU on Nov. 11 for the Michigan State game, and it certainly appears his recruitment will go the distance. With three offensive linemen committed for the 2024 cycle, Seaton would be a bonafide addition if Justin Frye can pull this one off.

Now the 247 composite #1 OT
Here goes me being a broken record on elite OOS OL and with very little confidence we can pull it off, but we have to win this battle against Bama for Seaton. You throw him in with Moore and the Armstrong twins, and that would be a really good OL class to me. Grab one more in the portal and we should be set on paper after what should be a very good '23 OL class.

But if we miss here after whiffing on Baker and the laundry list of OTs that went elsewhere...just being realistic, there are real problems on OL moving forward that I don't think the portal alone will solve. But until then, hopefully we can sway Seaton and not worry about it.

I really want to be optimistic with this one, but :roll1:
I think OSU has better luck in the Portal.

Seaton is still by far and away the most highly touted prospect remaining on the Buckeyes’ recruiting board for the 2024 class, and they’ll get him on campus for an official visit later this month. The five-star offensive tackle plans to attend OSU’s game against Michigan State next week, where he’ll surely get a full-court press from Ryan Day, Justin Frye and the rest of OSU’s coaching staff. It’s hard to say where exactly OSU sits for Seaton before his scheduled visit, but picking between the Buckeyes and the field, the field seems like a safer bet at this point.

Get him in and hope for the best, an official visit can work wonders. Hopefully it does here, Seaton is the difference between a good recruiting class versus an elite class. I very rarely say that about one particular prospect, but that is where we are at in '24. Go get 'em Frye, Hartline and Day.
