Florida LB Alex Anzalone (official thread)

And it's every fanbase.

Yes, but we're worse than all but a few SEC schools.

Look at the lengths that three Presidents in a row have had to go to just to make our gameday environment tolerable for visiting fans: undercover cops, buying a freakin' hotel so we could shut down the zoo that Hineygate had become, the only tailgating alcohol ban (something I disagreed with) in the Big Ten, making videos of our fans taunting visiting fans and releasing them to the public, public apologies to other fanbases.

Anyone who says that "it happens everywhere and we're no different" is part of the problem if only in an enabling sense.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this.

If anyone knows a loser that has/or said he will do something like what has been discussed by AA, tell that loser to knock it off. We need to police our own on this.

I really don't think it's appropriate for any of us to comment on the tweets or Facebook postings that Anzalone is talking about, since none of us really has any fcuking idea whether he's telling the absolute truth, a somewhat embellished version of the truth, or a pack of outright lies.

Anzalone has a parent, he has teammates, and he has coaches. Ultimately those people are the ones who will benefit or suffer from their association with the guy. It's time for Buckeye fans to move on -- and to continue not doing the kind of shit that Anzalone alleges some of us have engaged in.

About my earlier comment, I said parts are lies. I do imagine parts are super true.
I don't know as much about recruiting as some, I rarely post on the subject. But I know people and behavior as well as any.

Anyways, moving on.

To some degree it is just a matter of math. Yes, everyone has crazy fans, but by some measures we have the largest fanbase in the country and our fans are more fervent than most. Ergo, we have more crazy fans.

The alcohol ban was/is a joke and done to push tailgaters into corporate sponsored events to include the "Coors Light" Tailgate and other establishments that are owned by virtually the same group of people.

Heiney gate shut down for business reasons...all that did was push the crowd into the surrounding "shit shows"

The Texas debacle is the only incident I can remember truly feeling embarrassed about the base and you seem to spend plenty of time over at the Shag so maybe its possible you've become sympathetic to their causes

Ohio State is no different than the other schools that are in the same category of super duper size......there are copious amounts of bandwagon fans that have nothing to do with the university that can cause problems....anyone here can site horrible tweets that recruits received when they flipped to Ohio State so whatever

again Holbrook's crusade was a joke and accomplished nothing except to force old man scarlet and grey plaid pants from the class of 48 who has a 200k life insurance policy going directly to Ohio State when he dies to poor his two Rolling Rocks into a Solo cup

Anzalone on fringe of Te'o saga

Even Alex Anzalone was caught up on the fringe of the bizarre Manti Te'o saga, according to Yahoo.com.

Anzalone, the Wyomissing All-American linebacker, was at Notre Dame during the regular season while he was committed to the Fighting Irish before recently switching to Florida, where he is currently enrolled.

Anzalone put a photo of himself and Te'o, Notre Dame's All-American linebacker, on Twitter, which quickly drew comments.

Including this one: "Awww he was telling me about you! Congrats! I'm Lennay, btw, his gf. Blessings!"

That was from @lennaykay, the Twitter handle of someone alleging to be Lennay Kekua, Te'o's phantom girlfriend.

As Anzalone himself tweeted out as the Kekua saga unraveled Wednesday, "Who the heck was this?"

Can we get a vBet on how much Anzalone will inevitably end up losing to Nigerian scammers?
