Barcelona confirm Tito Vilanova exit - ESPNFC
Barcelona confirmed on Friday that Tito Vilanova is stepping down as coach to receive treatment for throat cancer.
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell confirmed the information with a brief statement read at the club?s offices with the players present.

?Today we are before you to give you news that I would never have wanted to give," Rosell said. "After evaluating the follow-up exams of Tito, the option to continue his treatment will be incompatible with his development as coach beginning right now.

?Over the next few days, we will be presenting a new coach, probably at the beginning of next week. We have met with all the players, with the captains and the veterans and we have decided not to play in Poland tomorrow.
Probably should've done this last season, but good luck to him in his recovery. Tough luck to get your dream job & then have a health complication interfere with that.

Too early to hear of any significant rumors of who might be replacing him yet. Let the games begin!

Paris Saint-Germain sign Marquinhos from Roma - ESPNFC
Paris Saint-Germain completed their estimated ?32 million capture of Marquinhos on Friday to take their spending this week past the ?100 million mark.

Following the arrivals of Edinson Cavani from Napoli and Lucas Digne from Lille for an estimated ?77 million combined, PSG announced on Friday evening they had scooped up the highly-rated Brazilian defender, 19, from Roma on a five-year deal.
I'm thinking they have just as much, if not more cheddar than City, although they've been at this a shorter period of time than there Manchester counterparts.

They also seem to have more of an eye for the future. Digne & Marquinhos are future studs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them bark up Paul Pogba's tree in a season or two. They will need French players in the lineup to satisfy the fan bad and Pogba's is poised to be France's best midfielder for years to come.

Totally. They should probably try & get on that before his price goes up significantly, but $$$ is definitely not an issue for them....yet at least. Who knows what there lineup will look like in a season or two though. I'm thinking they're likely to go the route City went and buy up all the available talent, only to let it all waste away on the bench because there's too many mouths to feed.

Since it doesn't involve the US team right now, figured it best belonged here.

Anyone else really annoyed by the flickering/jumping feed of FSC this match (MEX vs. PAN). Its starting to give me a headache. And I'd also rather play Mexico seeing the way Panama is attacking, though Mexico just evened it.
