Hilarious.

He says the following:

- he heard from a source close to clarett that tressel intimidated clarett's family. something along the lines of "it's not wise to go through with this story."

- several former osu players in the nfl and otherwise were "off the record" corroborating clarett's story, but were afraid of the consequences of coming forward.

-when hearing about marco cooper recanting he says "well, we played the tape of his comments last night."

- gist is that he felt clarett was the fall guy for the university and he decided to come out with his side of the story.


i have the following comments based on this. 1. how are a bunch of y-town gang-bangers afraid of a 50 year old man in a sweater-vest? 2. what can osu do to some nfl players making millions? 3. cooper was quoted as saying that friend asked him broad questions and took his responses out of context. the tape they played on espn was clearly an edited version.

if this is what espn has sunk to jsut to try and reaffirm this, they are struggling.
 
Let me get this straight...an ESPN guy is interviewing another ESPN guy on an ESPN radio show concerning the validity of an ESPN story. Sheesh, talk about leaving the priest to supervise the Cub Scout troop.

Actually both Patrick and Dibble were extremely skeptical of pretty much everything the guy was saying.

Later on The Dan PAtrick Show Howie Long was on the Air commenting on the article and of Ohio State and Coach Jim Tressel. He just gave out a big sign when he heard what Freind had to say. Hew as very supportive of Caoch Tressel and Andy Geiger. He then stated:

"There are a few college coaches who you could send your kid to and get back a better kid ... Jim Tressel is one of them"
He also said this kid is everything that is bad about todays sports ... me, I want it now ... me me me.

The Dan Patrick Show will still be in Columbus next week eh? I can bet money Dan is pissed that he has to go back to his home state before the best rivalry in sports and be seen as an enemy thanks to the lovely timing of all of this.

ESPN will not be welcomed with open arms by the gathering masses.

I, too, heard Howie on the Dan Patrick show and he was totally supportive of Coach T. He basically said that Tress was a man of great character and that if you were to have to choose Coach T's word or MC's word, it wouldn't even be close. He also said that this little stunt by MC is going to hurt him in the lockeroom with his teammates in the NFL.

I think when all is said and done this is going to hurt MC much, much more than tOSU. He may get drafted, but will probably not get a signing bonus and will have to settle for the NFL minimum pay. What other options does he have?

Tibor claims he's already working for him at his 7-11.....so he could always go back to that. I hear he makes a mean slurpy.
