Game Thread Game Eleven: Ohio state 25, Michigan 21 (final)

Wasn’t Mussfrickinberger wearing <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><ST1:pMichigan colors?<O:p</O:p

ToledoBuck-

ABC had a cutaway to the announcers talking and analyzing the game and sure as shit there was good 'ol Mussberger wearing his Maize (you-call-it-corn) and Blue.

I noticed it right away (what with those ugly-ass colors and all) but I don't think it points to anything more than Mussbergers normal piss-poor style. One could claim bias, but that has gotten to be the order of the day. No real shocker, though, when it comes to Mussberger. I have felt for the longest time (close to ten years now; pre-dating all that ESPN crap) that this guy, along with Keith Jackson, had no place in calling college football games. He is the definition of SUCK.

Yes, though, Maize and Blue were definately represented in the broadcast booth.

This just in: he wore colors. They happened to be similar to UM colors. They happen to be pretty popular colors for dressing up.

What does it mean when one of the analysts wears pink? Or aqua?

It's fashion. If it were griese in the booth wearing that, then I could buy it. As it stands, its fairly unimportant.

You have a few extra letters in your description.
Calling Musberger biased against the Buckeyes is retarded. You may not like his style- at times he is too over the top for me....how much hype does a commercial break really need to keep me watching the game?- but he's anything but biased against the Buckeyes.

Agreed. If anything, I see Musburger doing so many Ohio State games that he almost has to take measures as absurd as Herbstreit does to underplay his commentary because he doesn't want to come across as too biased.

How does anyone infer Musburger is biased against the Buckeyes?! He might as well list the Horseshoe as his home address on his tax returns he's in Columbus so often. He went so far as to actually say during the broadcast of the Northwestern game (his alma mater, no less) that he had become a Buckeye himself over the years.

How was Carr supposed to "invoke a challenge" Mr. I-Know-The-Rules?

Well, in short, LLLLoyd could tell Marc Summers he wanted to "Dare" the other team and the question value would double. The other team could answer or "Double Dare" the oppisite team back. LLLLoyd would then either have to answer or take the physical challenge. I can't believe you don't remember the rules!

also, do not forget that Brent referred to Ohio State as 'WE' during the Texas game...

A Disgraceful Comment by an Ann Arbor Sports Writer on Bobby Carpenter

The Game Commentary
November 21 2005 11:04 PM

I normally try to read several newspapers and link the interesting ones. But today, I have only one to link and it's this piece of shit from Jim Carty of The Ann Arbor News. You'll need to navigate to page 2 and you'll come across this passage from Carty describing Bobby Carpenter's injury...
...Long suited up and on U-M's first offensive play he crushed Ohio State linebacker Bobby Carpenter into the turf, ending Carpenter's game before it even began.

How does this stuff get through editors? Outside of applauding, could Carty been more insensitive to a player breaking his leg? Disgusting.

Lastly, what to make of Lloyd Carr's comments (audio) on Gonzo's catch? If his record against Tressel isn't embarrassing enough, his constant whining must surely make UM fans cower.
