Game Thread Game Seven: Ohio State 48, Kent State 3 (final)

That's so Bush league. If you're losing by 48, don't kick a consolation field goal just to avoid a shutout. BS.

I don't see it as bush league at all. Does scroing a TD make it any better? No. Put points on the board against the top scoring defense in the country.

On a side note, it was great to see Marcus Williams, Joe Gantz, and K. C. Christian get all those carries...

Good win for the Bucks, and it is definitely interesting to see that Beanie Wells was the 4th leading rusher for the Buckeyes (behind Brandon Saine, K.C. Christian, and Marcus Williams).

I think Tressel is saving the big guns for the rest of Big Ten play.

NO BTN here in TW land... did Tressel rest Beanie and Saine the whole day? I hope so as it looks like the other teams in the Big 10 are pretty nicked up and we're only half way through the season. Hart could barely make it off the field after another ankle injury... and with Michigan up by 28 points at the time. Of course you can't win the Heisman sitting on the bench and that may be the biggest thing Michigan has going for the season.

This would have been a good game for the Bucks to work on the running game. It looks a couple of times Jon petersen needs to muster the troups on the O-line side of the ball. The whole Big10 seems to be topsy turvy right now with Illinois going down to Iowa 10 - 6. This was a nice win but we still have to get our act together or OSU could be in for a few surprises yet down the road. Still alot of work to do.

On 1460 the Fan post game interview:

Russel has a high ankle sprain that he has been nursing. Rolled ankle.

James Lil Animal - JT said he is OK, just took him out to be precautionary. Hip pointer, nothing serious.

JT asked him if he'd be ready for the banquet in Decemeber :) Li'l Animal said he be ready for practice on Tuesday. Sounding very serious.

Beanie's injury: working through the pain, JT appreciates the way he is enduring it.

On Hartline: "BHart can run"

On TB: 13 of 16 passing, "he threw the ball effectively"

On Ranking: It's a reality, staying focused on the task at hand.

Kent State Post game:

Coach Martin: "If your going to run the ball against them, you'd better be a diverse FB team"

"Anybody that beats them it's going to be a low scoring close FB game"

On rotating QB's and RB's: "keeping them fresh for next week"

Not that I can really take a lot from this game considering the opponent, I was happy to see Hartline have the breakout game he had. The guy looked pretty damned amazing.

The starting off slow thing that we have been doing is a little concerning but we're starting to really get rolling, and when it counts too, with the last 5 games being the tough part of our schedule it's good to get this momentum heading forward.
