Game Thread Game Two: Ohio State 20, Akron 2 (Final)

Like some already said, a win is a win.... F the polls we have a young offense that (please agree) will not be contending for a NC. But setting themselves up for a great year next season. Don't get it wrong I want them to win every game. (BEAT scUM) Got some tough games this year and I would be happy with a Bowl Series game for sure. Then a win !@!@! GO BUCKS!!!

Tresselball is systematic. He is far too astute to show Ty Willingham very much in these first two games. He also needs to settle a new offense and get a running back, who is expected to carry this offense, to "get him mind back into the game".

It can be painful to watch but you have to understand that Jim Tressel is a teacher. All coaches are but we are witnessing a man who will one day be recognized as one of the greatest professors the sport has ever seen. He is most distinguished by his ability to assess his and his opponent's resources and then to translate these into a workable plan that accentuates the value of his resources.

Fans love early season ratings, Tressel knows that they mean nothing at this point. A front line embarrassed by a safety? 70 yards offense? Beanie over 140 yards? He achieved his objectives. He got just what he wanted.

Stick around. This could be a very interesting season. And watch this coach closely. We are very fortunate to be here at this time to witness this.

While the first half was a little scary, you have to like the potential that the bucks showed in the third and first few minutes of the fourth. If we can get rid of the TOs I like what I saw. I have a feeling we're going to be just fine... especially with a defense that has allowed 0 TDs this season.

:oh:

I listened on the radio... For those who watched it, how fast did our D look?? I was watching the Oklahoma game and they play fast and physical.. Was our D swarming and hitting hard??

I guess Im basically asking does our offense look like an 02 version or 06 version where they are flying around and looking NFL like... or are they like last year, where they get great results, but still dont look to be playing all that confident or fast

Like you...I don't worry about polls...just the game in front...and scUM.

But here's the deal. Nobody EVER thought National Championship a few years ago...so if THAT'S what you mean...I'm okay with that.

:wink2: :oh::io:

Cause I know I was thinking it....ummm....not to long ago

Sorry, but I must chime in after the Tressell ball kool aid drinking post.

Which part of Tressell Ball calls for QB's to throw wounded ducks?

Does it matter when the defense dominates like they did?

71 yards given up
3 first downs given up
0 pts allowed

I'm very happy the defense played the way they did!

Yes...our defense was fast, swarming...and laying out some hits...

I watched the Okie game on split screen for a bit...and there are a lot of similarities...

but one big difference...

Tressel's a better coach than Bob Poops...

Oh...and Oregon is about to go up 3-0 on MichiSuck...
