nice first post, you make alot of sense compared to most longhorn posters.

the only thing though is the aj hawk comment, i find that very very questionable, as will everybody else on this board. harris is a good linebacker, but hes not on hawks, or carpenters level yet. i dont even know if he is as good as schlegel yet.

i think the game will be decided by coaching, and line play.

I cant wait to see Vince Young get knocked flat on his ass by Hawk and/or Salley. Young is going to be in hell at the shoe. If he threw a pick against Lafayette imagine the problems he is going to have w/ our secondary.

2 more days.

Mack Brown can't coach big games, and Texas is the biggest underachieving team in the nation, with the most talent.
The first is an opinion, and here's some evidence that Texas is far from underachieving:

Not to defend the show, but as I say in that thread:

Mack Brown gets a bad rap. Texas recruits well and turns in great seasons year in and year out, and he doesn't deserve half the criticism he gets.

I would take harris over Schlegel any day of the week, and put him slightly under carpenters level. He is a very good Linebacker and should end up all big12. Also, you guys that are going crazy over my Northwestern comment make me laugh. Go read some of my other posts and then tell me if you really think that I was being serious

when schlegel started last year, he was a great MLB, he ended up leading the team in tackles for a loss with 10.5, hes got great speed, and i think i read somewhere that he has national lifting records.

oh yeah, hes also from texas.

I knew you were joking, HL. But there's a few folks around now that haven't read this entire thread to fully enjoy your sparkling personality.

hes not a good big game coach, theres stats all over this site to prove it.
Since you guys had the statistical anomaly that was John Cooper, I think you tend to overemphasize the idea of "bad big game coach." The players play the game.

Anyway, Texas went 43-8 from 2001-2004. That's simply not underachieving in my book when you play in a major BCS conference.

I figured most Texans wouldn't be so comfortable with a mixed race-same sex marriage. You guys are more liberal than I thought.

TheMile, do you think that the big 12 is overrated?

because almost everyone here thinks so. im just curious to your thoughts.
Yup, I think so. I'd rank them at #4, behind the SEC, Big 10, and ACC. 83% in a top 4 conference is one hell of an achievement, even if it's not the best conference.

it is a nice record, but i seem to think that for the most part we gang up on mack because of all the pre-season hype and the fans.

every year we hear from the fans that this is their year, because this years different.
and texas is always in the top 10, the losses to oklahoma stick out like a red flag though.
