Back to the topic of great feats... :)

I just played the 1980 Holiday Bowl in College Classics mode as BYU, in which you take over down 45-31 with 2:33 set up to kick an extra point. I scored 22 points in that time span to win, 53-45. The amazing part was that I didn't recover a single onside kick.

Holy crap! I want specifics, that sounds like a wild game!

The only thing I've done close is breaking the passing yards in a game NCAA record. When I say breaking, I mean breaking that shit BIG TIME. Troy Smith had over 1,000 yards through the air in the game against Miami (Oh.) during his RS Junior season. I think it ended up around 1,200. This was 8 minute qtrs with Helli sliders on AA (for those familiar with Hellisan's sliders).

OK, here ya go...

Kicked the extra point to make it 45-32.

Attempted an onside kick, recovered by SMU around my 40.
Stuffed a run, called timeout.
Stuffed another run, called timeout.
Stuffed a third run, let the clock run down around 1:30.
SMU punted for a touchback.
Completed a long crossing route, got some yards after catch to about their 30.
Completed a fade for a touchdown, added the extra point to make it 45-39.

Attempted an onside kick, recovered by SMU again around the 50.
Stuffed a run, called my last timeout with around 1:00 left.
SMU tried a fullback run, and I nailed him in the backfield, forcing a fumble, which I recovered.

Completed a deep fly pattern to their 6 yard line with about :40 left.
Accidentally called the wrong play in haste. Wanted a HB iso run, but called a fake to the FB and toss to the HB. Managed to juke the defender who had me dead to rights in the backfield. Touchdown BYU. Extra point made it 46-45 BYU with about :30 left.

Kicked the ball deep, SMU returned it to around the 20.
SMU completed a short pass, :20 or so left.
Picked off a deep pass at around midfield with :06 remaining.

Threw a hail mary for good measure, which was caught at the 1, and the receiver fought off a tackle into the endzone. Kicked the extra point.

Final score: BYU 53, SMU 45 :)

I didn't know Lydell Ross played fullback for SMU in 1980.

I've never had a game like that before. It was like nothing could go wrong - their receivers dropped almost every pass, I had blitzers coming free on every down, two of my dbs made shoestring interceptions...by the end, I just wanted to see how bad I could run it up. :)

I only had 500 some yards of offense, though. My starting field position average might have been on their side of the 50.

Oh, and it should have been 91. I missed an extra point after getting knocked back 15 yards on a celebration penalty. :!

Played a great game against a buddy of mine last weekend. He was #1 USC I was #2 OU.. played in the Fed Ex (shameless) Orangebowl

He takes the opening kick 93 yards for 6
I sub in Peterson, use him for 248 yards and a couple scores.

long story short, I'm down 7 with 1:10 or so to go. End up scoring with 22 Seconds left on a 33 yard TD from White to Clayton on 4th and 7. Too much time. Kick it deep, no return. He runs a hail mary, completes it, to my 35 or so. TO. Running play for little or no gain. TO. Running play for little or no gain. 5.. 4... 3... time out. Attempts 35+ yard FG in to a stiff wind (17mph, if memory serves) Kick is up.... hanging.. drifting.... and.......

Good!

I lost, but it was one hell of a great game. Ended up getting a 2111 on the "Great games" score.

In the game we played before that, I ran Laurence Maroney for 333 which included TD runs of 99 (Speed option left) and 83 (Counter toss)

I have acheived the feat of having ALL 5 preseason heisman candidates be from my team
i'm thinking if you have the top 5 heisman candidates and 3 of them were freshmen the year before that your level of difficulty might be juuuuuust a tad too easy............personally i don't understand people who like to rack up astronomical stats and ridiculous win streaks............i set my sliders to a level that makes each game a dogfight, where i lose to teams i should lose to, unless i play my A game, and get a few breaks..........and beat teams i should beat, unless i play sloppy..........it's a lot more fun for me this way...........it's much more satisfying when you finally do reach the top of the mountain, knowing you struggled to get there

That's definitely the fun of it for me too. I start my dynasty each year at one of the worst schools in the country just to see how long it takes to get out of the hole.

(Although I *am* currently riding a 52 game win streak on Heisman with OSU )

For me I just love Recruiting. But what I love doing is coaching 2 schools at once. First one is Ohio State and then my alma mater Ohio University. I play all my OU games for the first few years and simulate all Ohio State games except Michigan and National Title Games. What can I say, I love whipping Michigan 63-0 and calling timeouts with 30 seconds left to score more.

Normally in 3-5 years I get the invite from the Big Ten to join, normally replacing Northwestern or Purdue. That is basically when I stop actually playing because the talent level is sick and I cannot lose. While I don't use Heisman I use All-American and the sliders all the way over. (Heisman just seems unrealistically hard to the point of cheating by the ai).

Just last night playing as OSU on Heisman. Finishing up my third season and by some bizarre scheduling scenario I had to play Air Force the week after "the Game" I could not even remove the game from my schedule because Air Force did not have enough games on their schedule. They came into the game ranked 112.

Anyway, I like to run the hurry up and often use the play where you just hold down the square key and they run up to the line, fake the spike and the wide out on the left goes deep and the running back goes into the flat. about 2 minutes into the game I run the play and realize I have Gonzo at reciever with about 96 speed, and their DB is slower than shit. He blows by the guy every time and is wide open, even when they send over a safety he blows past that guy too. So just for fun I kept running the play it worked the whole game I ended up winning 124 to 0 I had over 1200 yards passing Gonzo had 12 touchdowns and almost 800 yards recieving. In the second half I put Ginn in at wide reciever and he was even faster, only he dropped half the balls I threw him even when he was wide open. I also held their horrible option offense to -83 yards rushing because they could not run against me, and when they had to pass I sacked them every time. It was horrrible.
