If I am picking one RB from OSU history, although it would be incredibly difficult for me not to take Archie, I am taking Byers. Byers had size, speed, hands, moves, power, he was a complete back. Byers would have been a lock for the Heisman had he not hurt his foot.

I love Zeke, but I have said the same thing that Spielman said yesterday, Zeke goes down by one tackler a little too often, even arm tackles. So go ahead flame away but Spiels said it on air too.

As strictly a runner, its Archie all day. Only got to see replays of his games really but his balance, strength and center of gravity were breathtaking.

As an overall best RB, as much as I love Keith Byars, it had to be Zeke. No other back I've seen really on any level is a better blocker. He is completely unselfish and performs in the clutch. He has excellent hands for a running back and his vision is fantastic.

Going to be an all time favorite Buckeye for his generation and it's a travesty the staff didn't go all out to get him to New York.

How many tackles did Byers have to break to gain 1.5 yards less per carry than Elliott?

Statistically, Byers is arguably the worst least great RB on that list.

Byers definitely played for a different coach and a different offense, as did Archie. Zeke was lucky to play with a different set to talent around him too.

Byers was going to win the Heisman with his stats because he was the best back in the country that year.

Some will hate and shudder to think this, but what's so impressive about Archie's '75 Heisman? I will certainly talk up the only two-time Heisman winner to many others, but taking off the scarlet tinted glasses and maybe he was a little bit of a hype vote, much like some have been in recent years. Archie didn't rank in the top 5 in rushing yards and his YPC is good, but not great. I won't even mention TDs, since (like in baseball with RBI) they're a product of opportunity and don't necessarily suggest talent and value to the team (especially back in that era).

With all due respect to Keith, a Heisman is not the be all, end all (even if he'd won it). I'd take Zeke over Eddie (and Eddie was a great RB, IMO).

Archie's first game was against Iowa on September 16, 1972. The official stat sheet for the game shows that he played but that he did not have any carries.

Archie's second game came the following week against North Carolina, where he rushed 27 times for 239 yards and a touchdown. He started for the rest of his career.

Zeke did not start a game as a true freshman in 2013 (Jordan Hall started during Carlos Hyde's suspension). Zeke started every game in 2014 and 2015.

So, as a featured back: Archie 45, Zeke 28

I don't know for sure but i think Archie fumbled in the Iowa game and he was surprised that he played against NC. Not totally sure may be Jack Park can confirm or deny....
