Everyone who picked anyone other than Archie go sit in the corner

Sorry it's a fair argument.

People gotta remember, what Zeke did, was only 2 years. Think about that, he was a starting RB for 2 years, and only had 27 carries his freshmen year. That is RIDICULOUS

Outside of the state Ohio, it's pretty common belief that Archie didn't deserve the heisman his 2nd go around. I wasn't alive so I don't know, and won't debate that.

Having said that, I still put Zeke at 2 behind Archie, but I have no problem putting him at 1

Although there were quite a few folks outside the Midwest who felt Archie wasn't the best player in the country in 1975, it wasn't a "pretty common belief".

Problem with the comparisons isn't just the different eras, styles of offense, playing surfaces, etc ... but being completely honest here Beanie and Zeke tore through some astoundingly bad conference opponents. The pre-division B1G of Beanie's time was historically, hysterically bad. The post-division B1G of Zeke's time ... meh. Eddie played when the B1G was arguably at its top-to-bottom strongest than at any point since before WWII.

It's impossible to compare using stats. I will say though that Eddie and Zeke are the most complete RBs I've seen wear the S&G in my lifetime. They are 1a and 1b, and I'm not sure of the order.

Yep. Gino Torretta has a Heisman. So does Mark Ingram. And Eric Crouch.

And Danny Wuerffel....and Charlie Ward....

EZE will be forever remembered as a Buckeye great - he has the National Title whereas Archie has the 2 Heismans and the records. I don't think you can go wrong with either answer.

edit to add: Remember, our first glimpse at the terror that EZE was WITHOUT the ball in his hands was when he was obliterating a Purdue return guy:

that's why just about every site that does a most undeserving/worst whatever you wanna call it winners have Archie in there? (his 2nd one)
The only thing I've seen of the sort is about Heisman winners who "did the worst in the NFL". I haven't seen anything saying he didn't deserve his second Heisman. But, hey, if you have the articles, feel free to link them here. By the way, didn't you say "I wasn't alive so I don't know, and won't debate that." Yet, here you are...

Because talking heads and failed English majors otherwise known as "journalists" write inflammatory [Mark May] to get clicks.....
Not to mention that most of those fucks writing that shit weren't even around or were in diapers when Archie was at Ohio State...

Kieth had a very successful NFL career. None of them can say the same.

Anyone who questions Kieth Byars in the top 5, didn't see him play is all I can assume. If you did and still question his talent then we see the game very differently and are never going to agree.

As far as Zeke goes I personally am not going to choose between he and Archie any more than I am ready to say Archie was better than Chic Harley, Les Horvath or Hop Cassady.

Zeke is best post Woody era RB. I don't think there is any doubt about that.
