Even if he's a 'quality control' assistant who by definition has no contact or involvement with the players? He would mainly help with film and developing the offensive gameplan

Well, it wouldn't happen because of two different schemes but having Schiano on staff isn't being talked about much lately either. People respect and keep themselves in check coaching under Urban.

Trust me, if we ran a pro style offense, I would at least bring him in and see where he is with his life then judge.He is way too good of an offensive mind not to consider, we just run a whole different style of offense so I guess its a moot point.

Post-Dantonio his resume as DC at OSU is 2004. Granted, he shared the co-DC role with Mel Tucker, but the results were lackluster. Result as DC at Texas A&M wasn't stellar either given the absurd DL talent Sumlin handed him.

Great LB coach and recruiter, but I've seen nothing that merits handing him the keys to the entire defense.

If we're naming ex-OSU retreads I'd sooner rehire Heacock or Tenuta.

Beck? He has turned our QBs into pretty decent LBs.

Why are we not seeing Beck mentioned for any job anywhere?

It didn't take Herman long to become the "QB whisperer" and the hottest commodity in CF. Beck took the same two guys and made the rest of college football ignore him.
