Jersey / Uniform Discussion (OSU)

I would like competence. I've learned never to expect it.
This would have looked great if they were going black.

Instead they went for the 8 years after it went out of style monotone black look.
Yay lazy generic money grab.

I have always loved this mock up the best of all the black alternatives.

Can the rest of the anti-black crowd check in so we know the jersey's didn't sneak into your houses before the game and slaughter you like you feared?

You ever read the debriefings on 11W? You know how they always have a section for "The moment Buckeye Football disgraced your family"? This week all it's going to say is how they walked onto the field in those black and red monstrosities.

My neighbors watched the rest of the game after the Hawaii game was over, and their first comment was "Why are they wearing black?" After explaining that Ohio State caved into the recent fad of virtually everyone wearing a black alternate uniform, they then made comments about "Where's the gray?" and "It would look better with those silver pants and helmets". Even my local Hawaiian neighbors knew better than some on this board...

Didn't much care for the look when the team first took the field.

Liked the look of the scoreboard when the team left the field. So it worked out OK.

I was an advocate of the black uniforms but once I saw them on the field I did not like them. I am not that big of a traditionalist so it probably has to do with my age:wink:

I think it helped energized the crowd in the stadium. I agree with MaxBuck, it worked out OK. They had a couple special segments on the scoreboard; a know your Buckeyes thing where they interviewed several players asking them what their favorite Halloween costume and Halloween candy was. Some of the player's comments/costume pictures were funny. Cam Johnston said that they don't celebrate Halloween in Australia...... Had we lost I doubt that we would see them again. Since we won it wouldn't surprise me if we have a Dark Night II next year (i.e. just before Halloween, 29 Oct vs NW).
