Im old school. I hate any socks in college football. It looks awful IMHO. But those things yesterday were awful, looked like pippy longstockings out there.

I liked the jerseys for the most part, I thought the entire uniform was pretty sweet looking, but I still hope this is a one game deal and thats it. Tribute made, now lets get back to the traditional Ohio State uniform.

in the 40's our leather helmets were that color (this uni is awful close to the '43 unis).

'49 we had this old gold, not sure about '50, but by '51 our uniforms were nearly identical to what we wear now.
Only differences are the helmet numbers and stripes went all the way around the arm (changed to current short stripes around '01ish).

sometime late '60s/early '70s, we changed to this helmet logo

by '79, we had our current helmet logo

Top seed gets to pick the jersey. OSU, under Tressel, has in the past chosen to wear white, rather than scarlet.

Top seed picks the jersey in the NC game. The Rose has alternated annually for years. Big Ten is the "home" team this year, so it is our option.

As far as my reaction to the whole "throwback unis", the white helmets suck but the rest was "OK". Don't need to see them again.

Apparently they are going to make more of the replica's available in the future. College Traditions has them available for order on their website. They won't be delivered until sometime in January though. Also, there is an option for different numbers. 1, 2 and 8 are all going to be offered.

I've already seen shirts for the Rose Bowl, the ones that look like the jersey but are in t-shirt form, have the special Rose Bowl patch too. The one I saw was our road jerseys, I'd like to get one of these or maybe even a regular jersey, but I'd wanna know it's the same one that they are gonna wear in the game before spending the money. I remember one of the National Title games (I think 06) they had the home jerseys everywhere with the Title Game patch but then they wore the road jerseys. Wouldn't want that to happen.
