Just Curious: What's your honest opinion of LSU?

Actually that's exactly what "we" were talking about. More to the point, it's what I chose to address. If you want to go ahead and debate another point we can do that. But I am debating the incorrect information I read on the last page. I don't understand what the point is in the Auburn game. There was time left on the clock, had the pass not been complete there would have still been time left. Game. Set. Match. There is nothing to debate about that game but thanks for playing.

you're completely ignoring the first down that the refs handed LSU on a silver platter on the last drive. correct spot = no time left for that last second (seven seconds, whatever) heave.

ok so you go for a 30 yard TD pass and miss it and still have 02 seconds or whatever it may be... Now you have your fieldgoal kicker from the right hash from like 40 yards away for the win? Instead if you bust it off the left tackle and pick up 6 yards and call a time out you are left with a like a 34 yarder (chip shot) in the middle of the field. Sure it could be blocked, sure your fieldgoal kicker has a strong leg and prolly makes the 40 yarder anyways but STILL the risk was unneccessary.

As for the DB being burnt from Auburn??? Bull, go back and look he's all over the damn man he's just too stupid to look back for the ball or guess what? thats an EASY INT. The ball was slightly underthrown and had that CB looked back you are not on this board talking X's and O's cuz you're in like the Holiday bowl or something.

unneccessary and I think it does end the game even if the pass was Incomplete... sometimes clocks tick for no damn good reason at the end of ball games

If this DB plays the ball instead of faceguarding, this ball may be tipped away or intercepted, leaving LSU with a long FG by a kicker lacking trust. (or worse)

I'm just popping in to see what is going on (I plan on being here much more frequently over the next few weeks). I'm noticing that the friendly banter is getting much more testy. As a Buckeyes fan we should not underestimate what LSU has accomplished this season. As for any LSU fans, I don't think it would be a wise choice to underestimate this OSU squad.

As for who outplayed who in 2002 or in the LSU Auburn game...........who gives a fuck? Let's not dwell on any past games, where the circumstances (injuries, matchups......ect.) were different. That is in the past, and quite frankly it gets to be a bit boring. Let's talk about the keys to this game and dissect them in a logical manner. If we resort to shit talking, we are just another ignorant fan message board..........last time I checked avoiding that mentality was one of the reasons that C-Dog started this board.

I think it is going to be a very close game. Could go into overtime. :tongue2:

Seriously, I do think it's going to be a great game. Both teams have great defenses and solid running games. It will come down to which teams QB is the hottest on that particular night.

That's what the hell I am talking about. With all due respect I am tired of reading "yea but if this had happened", "Oh but if the ref did this". I'd be more interested in discussing the upcoming game instead of how we could have possibly, maybe, almost lost or shouldn't, probably, possibly have won. It does get old. The regular season is over, the wins and losses are final for the regular season. Our teams will be in the NC game and that is what I want to talk about. Player match ups, schemes, tendencies and things of that nature.

Chad Jones will be better than Laron Landry. Chad Jones refuses to lose. LSU doesn't quit, plays with pride and expects to win football games. Les Miles will gamble a lot and it will probably pay off. Matt Flynn will be prepared and confident in the title game. Joesph Addai will cheer for LSU. Colt David can really pumped up in a football game. Early Doucet once bit a man who disagreed with him. Xavier Carter wants LSU to win.

HE STARTED IT (Points finger at LSU fans)!!! haha jp

Hey I was called out so thats only reason I responded.... I'm not discounting LSU at all I've stated a win is a win no doubt bout it. I'm just a bit irritated hearing excuses for the close wins (who cares boys you won them, and they lost!!). Anyways I'm going to get one more late jab (might be unneccessary but the hell with it) that Auburn DB is a moron for not turning around he was in perfect position to INT the ball had he just looked back.

Here's a question what would you LSU fans think if Auburn would've indeed picked the ball off? (about Les Miles that is)

First of all, I can't think of too many instances where I would criticize a coach for going for a win, especially when there is still another play to be run. But the thing that bugs me about that call was the fact that there was no flag thrown for interference on the DB. I was about 15 feet from that play and I assure you that he was guilty. Lucky for us it didn't matter. Because we had lost to Auburn a couple of times in the last few years on very bad calls it wouldn't have gone down too well.

I am excited about Chad Jones. I thought it'd be a very long time before anyone of LaRon Landry's caliber and skill level played safety at LSU. But Chad Jones has all the talent in the world and does everything well... hits hard, plays well in coverage, man to man, everything you'd want in a safety. He is going to be a great one here.

haha hmmm indeed...We'd be talking bout how we are going to crush Va Tech! So maybe you'd be here giving insight or something eh?

I can't fault the guy for going for a win, but lets be serious here that call was probably an unnecessary risk. I mean sure the DB is bumping into the reciever a bit but seriously that just shows you that Matt Flynn's throw was ill-advised. It was a great catch by the reciever and like I've stated before thank god for LSU that that DB didn't turn around.

Great catch not a great throw... you could say that flynn purposely underthrew the ball but I doubt that was the case.

My biggest concern about LSU is the hard fought games that they played. Having to fight for four quarters (and often more) gives you an edge at the end of the year. The Buckeye's were able to shut down their opponents relatively early (especially later in the season). This is great for getting your starters off the field, but may hurt them in the championship game if the game goes to the end (which I expect it will).

I can't really say how good LSU is, since all of the SEC games I watched this year seemed to be close all the way to the end. Is LSU just playing up to the level of the opponents, or is the SEC just that evenly matched? Not sure. LSU also got some good breaks by the officials (that replay ref in the Alabama game loved you guys), but this is not to say that LSU doesn't deserve to be there though.

I wish OSU was playing more of a finesse team that they could roll over early, but the physical nature of the game should be something to watch. Should be a great game!

Ohio State/LSU fans couldn't ask for a better matchup!!

This could not of been a better and more exciting matchup for Ohio State fans. LSU is a hard-nosed traditional style, smash mouth, great football team. No spread em out fancy nancy flash and dancing team. They're style is too just line up strait, hit hard and ram the football down your throat. That is just the kind of game Ohio State thrives on. This could be a classic in the making for both teams to enjoy. No matter what, nobody knows who will turn out to be the better team or if their QB or ours will have a great day but one thing we can both agree on is that it has the potential to be a very very exciting game for both sides and that is too be enjoyed to the fullest in and of itself. So sit back Ohio State and LSU fans, get a cold drink and some popcorn and just enjoy the game because this could be a great one no matter which side of the field you are cheering for. Appreciate the best of the best being out there. Other teams and other fans can bitch and moan about how this team doesn't deserve to be there and then cry cuz their team got robbed of a title shot, when in fact their teams didn't take care of business to put themselves in the title game. Apparently OSU and LSU did !! SO HA !!! Now sit back and enjoy because this opportunity doesn't come along very often in a lifetime. It sure is good to be a Buckeye, and yes even a Tiger (for now hehe)
