The injury also meant that Saban retracted his offer

In all seriousness, glad your son is enjoying football, Nutriaitch. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to the same thing for my son, I've still got several years to go. He's already on the lineman path like I was, 95% in height at birth and he was 11 lbs 6 oz lol. He's 1 1/2 years old right now though, so I'm gonna have to be patient.

I was stoked when my oldest son started playing.
he played 2 seasons, but quit both years.
he just didn't really car for it.
he's built more like I was (really skinny), and he's a lot more laid back. football just wasn't his sport.

my youngest however ain't happy unless he's he's playing chicken with a rampaging buffalo or something.
and this crazy fucker would try to go head up with a dump truck if you let him.

not football, but this son had a great baseball game yesterday.

hit a 2 run triple to keep the score within reach.
pitched the final two innings after the starter began to struggle, and picked up his first career win (got no-decisions in his previous 2 appearances).

didn't look promising in his first inning.
struggled with his command and got hit around a bit when he did find the strike zone.
but in his second inning he settled down and got them up and down in order to set up his teams comeback win. Including blowing 3 straight heaters right by the swings of the last batter he faced.

son pitched well enough in his last game to get the start in tonight's game.
logged another win giving up 2 runs in 3 innings before hitting his pitch limit.

Ella got her first hit in softball tonight - it was a clean single up the middle.

My son Matt might be a good middle infielder...he gets to everything in his tee ball games. I have to slow him down some so the other kids get a chance. Strong arm too

played a double elimination tournament this weekend.
went 2-2 losing in the quarterfinals.

son got to pitch in 3 of the 4 games with 2 starts.
1 win 2 no decisions.

last night and today he pitched very well.
only gave up one run today.

coached pulled him early in hopes to save his pitch count for use later in the tourney.
an error on what should have been the game clinching out forced extra innings where we ultimately lost.

I hope the kid can live down the mistake. Unlike Bill Buckner, Scott Norwood, Ray Finckle, Jose Mesa... and I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch more.

he seems like a well grounded kid.
we'll see how he reacts. they play again Tuesday night.

my son took this one pretty hard. he's competitive as hell and can't stand losing.
he pitched in relief through a minor injury Friday night and kept the game within reach (we fell just short in the comeback attempt).
played his lil ass off Saturday morning, then got the start Saturday night and earning the win.
Sunday morning morning was his best pitching performance yet.
even after we lost the lead, he was still out there giving it everything he had in the tank.
when the other team got the walk off win, it crushed him.
he didn't make a sound the entire 45 minute ride home from the park.

would have taken an amazing day to win the tournament.
they would have had to win 3 straight games with no breaks in between.
but don't tell this lil shit it couldn't be done.

Hard to believe my daughter will be playing her last few softball games this week and next. She has done quite well this season in the circle and at the plate. 66 strike outs to only 6 walks (zero walks in league play), 1.48 ERA (.19 in league play). She's hitting about .550 (over .600 in league play). With any luck she'll get better than her honorable mention all district last year. Gonna miss watching her play...

But.... I still get to enjoy my son's baseball games for the next 5 years!

i hope at least one of my 2 sons continues playing after little league.

my oldest one doesn't love the game, really only playing to give himself something to do.

the short hippie on the other hand is absolutely passionate about the sport. especially now that he's a regular pitcher.

if he can learn how to reel himself back in when he loses focus, he can elevate his game quite a bit more.

when he's locked in, he's a solid pitcher. but he's a typical 10 year old. he goes through spurts where you can tell by looking at him he's not focused, and his command completely leaves him.

me and his head coach have gotten to where we can predict it just by watching his facial expression.
if he looks serious and almost mad, the other team better watch out.
if he has that lil smart ass smirk of his, get ready for walk city.
