Dark Knight... superb. There are better action flicks, and comic book movies, but I cannot remember a character I enjoyed more than Ledger's Joker (at least a 'villain', possibly overall). Went in with very high expectations and he cleared them with flying colors.

I didn't say it was bad....

The joker is freaking awesome and heath did a hell of a job...but other than that it was just your average action movie

7/10
That was pretty much my summary in the Dark Knight thread.

Enjoyed the movie, but it wasn't as good as Batman Begins, IMO.

Batman Begins - yeah, I'm that far behind in seeing new movies. What a great cast. Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman all in supporting roles? I haven't seen any of the Batman films since seeing Batman Returns in the theater god knows how many years ago. I enjoyed it. Now I may have to go see The Dar Knight, too.

Gary Oldman is my all time favorite actor. I Love Braham Stoker's Dracula. Oldman made that movie what it is!!!

He's played some pretty wacky roles, but man is he good. He was tremendous as Beethoven in Immortal Beloved. Great in The Professional. Hannibal, Air Force One, Harry Potter movies. He's great in just about everything.

In other words....great post! I agree!

True Romance. I've been trying to get this movie from Blockbuster's online service for literally almost a year, not because there has been too much demand or too few copies, but because the jackasses would send me the special features disk instead of the actual feature-film disk every time. You wouldn't believe how many emails I wrote and how many people I spoke to about this problem. I even resorted to physically putting sticky notes on the special features disk when I would send it back, and then next time, waddayaknow! Special features disk again. This went on periodically for months.

If anyone is thinking about doing a mail-service movie club, go with NetFlix. I switched when Blockbuster started allowing you to exchange disks in-store, which is nice, but just not worth all Blockbuster's crap. For instance, I've had David Lynch's Eraserhead and a foreign flick called Brodre at the top of my Que for at least 7 months and they still haven't been shipped because there is a "Very Long Wait." Seriously, Blockbuster has to be just about th biggest movie rental company in the country, and I can't get a David Lynch film. Go with NetFlix. [/RANT]

Anyway, I guess True Romance was worth the wait. Pretty good film.

No Country for Old Men
Good movie. Probably more realistic, as far as the outcome, when something like this happens.

Also, this was my first experience with Blu-Ray. Freaking awesome. This movie isn't exactly something that you would have to watch in the format...but the wilderness shots in HD were pretty freaking incredible.
