Jordan Whiting, and the walk-on (Tony something, #41). Total waste to burn his redshirt if Homan's injury is the only factor right now...

There's still a lot of football to be played this season and I'm sure Bino knew going into the decision that if the injuries mounted up, he might be asked to take off the redshirt.

Agree 100%...the only thing complicating the situation is that Bryant is out 6 weeks which means he wont be ready till the bowl game and Bino has played some at Star. I know Homan and Bell are out as well but with the bye week coming up that gives those guys a chance to get healthy.

Sabino told the staff that he wanted to redshirt this year, and they supported him in that. I highly doubt that they are burning the redshirt this late in the season unless it is what he wants.

This is completely different than what is being reported. It is being reported (by Dave Biddle at Bucknuts) that the coaches made the decision to redshirt Sabino. It was their idea and they asked him if he wanted to. He agreed. After the injuries to Bell and Homan they asked him if they could burn the redshirt and he did not want to (this conversation happened after the Wisc game). After the last game, the coaches came to Sabino again and told him he WAS burning the redshirt (no option to Sabino). Sabino does not want to and asked other players to talk to the coaches, but the coaches are burning the redshirt anyways.

Apparently the coaches are not happy with Klien, Newsome, and Bell (Bell is still recovering from injury - which is taking longer than the coaches want).

I have seen nothing but good things out of Klien. Hard to believe the coaches don't think he can fill in. They only play the third linebacker about 20% of the time, so why not let Klien play?

I understand the team before player idea but if Biddle's report is true, then the coaches have screwed Sabino bigtime.

Yeah lets burn the redshirt for a blowout saturday, Bye week, then a weak penn state team. O yeah and by the way, The SAM hardly plays. I still think there is no way this is true.

The SAM will play a lot against Iowa and we need that game for a shot at another Big Ten title. The Big Ten title is greater than any one player. All reports on this board pre-season were..."pending the injury situation, Sabino will redshirt". Well folks, we have a shit ton of injuries. This wouldn't surprise me at all if true.

Homan or Bell will be ready for Iowa..
