Les Miles (grass eater)

LSU sources are confirming that a "serious offer" has been made, and his agent is meeting with Joe Alleva (LSU AD) this evening.

sounds like Miles is going to get a pay raise out this one way or another.

my gut is he doesn't take the job, but there are some connections.

Arkansas' AD is also a Shembechler guy.

Jerry Jones is their biggest booster. Mile worked for Jerry for a few years, and the 2 are reportedly good friends.

if he takes that job...

if he takes it, he would immediately ascend to a level of hate i reserve for only a select few.

Saban left for the NFL. that was understandable, because it's a step up.

Arkansas? that is a step DOWN. plain and simple.

If he takes it, please God let LSU hire Petrino...

different AD now, but Petrino interviewed back in '04.
Skip laughed at him back then and said "no, we can do better than this tool"

I'd love to see LSU call his bluff and say "go for it". At some point, universities are going to have to draw a line. I don't like LSU, but I would if they held their ground.
Yeah, what would this be...the 3rd raise he's leveraged out of other job offers? At some point, you have to say enough's enough.

So, here's the interaction between my boss and me after a similar effort:

GoBucks1014: Hey boss, one of our biggest competitor's has offered me a job, with a significant raise. What can you do for me?

Boss: Isn't this the 3rd time in 6 years you've come into my office with this [Mark May]?

GoBucks1014: Well, I have won over some big accounts over the past 6 years, and increased sales 125% over goal.

Boss: Answer my question. Isn't this the 3rd time in 6 years you've come into my office with this bull[Mark May]?

GoBucks1014: But...

Boss: Ok, that's what I thought. Good luck GoBucks1014, don't let the door hit you. Let me know how it's going when your luck runs out in a couple of years.
