LSU Tigers (official thread)

Even if it was self-defense and the sale was legit, at the end of the day, these guys were rolling strapped. How is that not a team violation? If this were Ohio State, we'd be getting raked through the national press as an out of control program where the players carry handguns. And did the player have a concealed carry permit? I'm going to go out on a limb and say, "no."

neither are old enough to have a cc permit. however:
don’t need a cc permit in your vehicle in Louisiana as it is considered an extension of your home.
plus, la is an open carry state. you can walk around with it out in open (with obvious exception of weapon free zones).

i know a guy that was in a somewhat similar situation several years ago.

except it was a drug deal that went bad.

him and a friend unloaded their pistol, took the other guys gun and unloaded it on him too.
they then dumped the body and tried to burn the car.

the two that did the killing served a little time for the drug charge and obstruction/evidence tampering.
but zero one for the guns or the killing (rules in self defense).

and these were just two regular schmucks.

so speaking strictly from Louisiana state law, sounds like they in the clear (as of now).

i honestly do not know what (if any) NCAA/SEC/LSU rules are in place as far as ownership and carrying of weapons.

So those two didn't get much playing time. Did they get suspended for a half or a full game?

Do you still not need a permit to open carry?

without looking, i’m going to guess that Louisiana may be the only state where it’s perfectly legal to walk down the street with an open container and your piece strapped to your hip with no issues.

i don’t walk around with a gun, but when not in LA, i often forget other places have alcohol laws. Even in Texas, you can’t buy it between 2am and like 7am (not sure exact times, but somewhere around there).

get some funny looks when trying to buy whiskey in a gas station at 3am in other states.

If buying whisky at 3am at a gas station is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

oh, wow.

yeah that’s such a foreign concept to me.

you can seriously buy pretty much anything from a 24/7 gas station any time of any day you want.

prices are going to be high and selection not the greatest, but it’s there.
beer, whiskey, vodka, cheap shitty wine, etc.

some parishes in northern part of the state are dry or have certain times/days where it illegal. but most of the southern part is perfectly legal whenever you want.

hell New Orleans doesn’t even have laws requiring bars to close. they run 24 hours.
