The NBA has had a serious image problem for years!!!!

Thats why noone watches the NBA anymore....

Well, I watch the NBA. And I wish some of the idiots in the league would get thrown out or grow up. There are far too many talented, upstanding athletes in the league for minority of jackasses to ruin their image.

Not so sure on the endorsements, as it might change now, but b4 the fight:

Melo is in with Jordan and his shit sells like crazy...

DWade is runnin' with Converse, not really what you call a great shoe company nowadays...

You're probably right that money-wise, through shoe endorsements only, 'Melo is doing better. But after last year's title run, DWade has been all over the place like Peyton Manning.

Agreed, but Melo has got his fair share of things too, and has been very marketable for Jordan.

Also being in Denver has not really helped him...

I think the Wade love is going to wear off tho, he is a very good player, but just a boring superstar...In a way what I am trying to say is that he is a blue collar guy that at times is not flashy...Kinda like a Marvin Harrison type in the NFL...

Agreed. And not for better, but for worse, guys like Harrison and Wade just aren't as interesting as idiots like Chad Johnson, TO and 'Melo.

"They ain't babies, they's fidgets" Nate Rob is a funny dude but runs his mouth incessantly. He should've stuck around the Washington football team past 2002 and tried to guard Jenkins in the 03 opener. Would've been comedy.

I stick with the 10 game, 1/2 season, lifetime ban scenario. The thug image in the NBA needs to end to retain any credibility. If something like this were a hard and fast rule, I think that you would see a whole lot less second offenses.

I know the NBA gets a bad rap for being a Thug league and they have had some bad incidents, but really how do people go from loving some of these kids in college bball and then labling them as thugs in the NBA.

I mean guys in the NFL are involved in the same type of shit, there was pushing and shoving all over the field tonite in the Falcons/Cowboys game tonite and the NFL isnt labled a thug league.

Maybe it has to do with not being under a helmet and being able to see all their facial expressions and see them jawing.

I understand that if people arent a fan of the NBA b/c they go away from team ball, they are at times lazy, and the joy for the game isnt what it is in college, but people point to the NBA and say I don't watch it b/c they are thugs. Anyone care to try and and help me understand this a little more.

I really have trouble referring to these pussy-ass punks as "thugs" because thay couldn't land a real punch in a fight if their life depended on it. THEN, when miraculously a punch lands (albeit a blind sucker-punch by Anthony) the agressor runs away like the little bitch that he is.

These guys are a joke. To me, basketball ends with March-Madness.

FWIW, Converse is owned by Nike now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Converse

Anthony's deal is probably is bigger money-wise because he was a bigger name when they were drafted. Wade's Converse gear is probably in all the same places though because it's Nike backed. I bet it's selling pretty well too.
