Mark Sanchez (Philadelphia Eagles)

Alumni Group to go to Mission Viejo Game

It'll will be too bad if Sanchez does to to USC. The OSU alumni group here in Los Angeles was planning a big outing to see him and the others play a high school game. We could fill half a stadium. Maybe he'll change his mind...

Others in So Cal interested should contact the Los Angeles chapter of the OSU alumni club.

Well congrats to Mark on his decision. I'm truly not worried about landing a great QB in this class, at this point. With the commitments we have on O-line and the ones that may commit, I'm positive many great QBs will want to play behind those guys. RS is definately no let down to MS imo.

I agree DA. I would be excited if RS selected OSU. He is also a good kid and a solid QB. Maybe he is not quite as talented as MS, but sometimes you just need to be good enough.

In all the excitement and disappointment that goes with following recruiting, it can be easy to lose sight of the fact that these kids need to decide what is best for them individually. I hope Rob views OSU as the best choice for him. If not, I wish him well as I wish Mark Sanchez the best of luck also.

Good night and Go Buckeyes!

"they were scooped on Bemoll....they were scooped on Sanchez and I personally scooped them on Matta....."

Not hard to imagine when some of their best sources have been banned. A begrudging Congrats to MS. AS long as he made the best choice for him, I can't really fault the guy. Now, about this RS fella...

Bill Hodge on collegesports.com is reporting Sanchez as a Trojan. Deep down, the location and Norm Chow were too much for him to pass up, probably. Oh well, Williams recruiting Bemoll to become a Buckeye was pretty darn cool. I just hope Williams makes Sanchez's head ring when he sacks his ass in the Rose Bowl a few years down the line.....
I now hope Schoenhoft commits quickly so I can see a fellow Blue Bomber at QB for the Buckeyes in the next few years..................

To bad for Mark Sanchez, Matt won't give up the job for a few years and the other QB's in line are scary, hope he can play another postion. I can't believe the oppertunity this guy passed up with the Bucks, well at least he's got his family and good weather. IMO bad call MS, no hard feeling best of luck. Did anyone tell him about boone, cordle, and bemoll, wow hope it's USC and the Bucks in a bowl game with RS having all day to throw and MS on the sideline.

Silverbill - Lienert's staying won't affect MS, assuming MS redshirts. Lienert is a Jr. this year, MS is in HS. Next year, Lienert is a Sr., MS is a RSFrosh. Year after that, Lienert is riding the pine for ... hmmm... usually I'd say Cincy, but their actually getting better... lets say the Browns and MS is in line to win the QB position.... which, will be a tough sell since, as you said, the guys in front of him are "scary" good. I agree with your assessment if playin time was the biggest factor for MS (which I don't think it was) then USC isn't the best choice for him.

So, as this "MV3" saga has most definely ended, it is safe to conclude:

1. USCguru was wrong and he most likely won't be back to collect the apologies from grad21.
2. rdsbuck was correct about 2/3 of his predictions, but he was wrong when predicting that "a player with an S in his last name would commit to the bucks within the next 24-48 hours". This forecast was expressed late last Tuesday night.
3. Since I have been reading his moderate opinions and logical yet very tempered predictions, wstripes has been correct on critical calls, including the MS decision.

As far as "insiders" go, advantage wstripes.

There are speculations swirling around the USC camp regarding the MS decision and the status of some of the USC QBs. All this will become clearer when Fall camp opens on Agust 3, including the decision by Leinart to stay for his fifth year.

i may be wrong, but for whatever reason i think Sanchez was headed to OSU earlier this week, then came around on USC. In the end, I really cant fault his decision. True, it may be harder to start there, but if he wants to play in the NFL the competition will only make him better. Best of luck to Sanchez at USC and I'm just happy we have williams and bemoll.

Do you mean the competition as starting QB at USC or the competition in the PAC 10? I would argue the competition in the B10 is better, but the competition, at least on paper, at the QB position may be harder at USC than OSU.

It's hard to get out of the clutches of Prickly Pete. Sanchez showed nothing but respect for OSU during the whole process, so I can't feel too bitter about it. If we get Shoenhoft then I'll be more than happy.

I also have to give some props to this board for the reaction to MS to USC. I'm cringing at the thought of all the people on suicide watch over on Bustnuts.
