Michigan State Spartans (official thread)

assuming he killed himself then?

(38 year old elite athletes don't drop dead of natural causes all that often being my logic behind the question)
From the article:
The Lions selected Rogers with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft, but his career never took off as he admittedly struggled with drug issues. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder had just 36 catches for 440 yards with four TD in 15 games before he left the league.

Gonna guess his drug use caught up to him or he OD'd.

Sad. He will always be a poster child for a gifted player that totally wasted his talent.

Wasn't it injuries that caused him to go down that path?
To me, this is significantly different then Josh Gordon or Justin Blackman.

If memory serves me right, he had a solid to great first NFL game, then broke an arm or Collarbone the very next.

Broke his collarbone twice and got hooked on pain meds. So sad.

Yea a story with a lot of parallels in US pillcare right now =/
I read about some of it for awhile... i guess he was working as an auto mechanic before liver cancer diagnosis.
Crazy what opiods will due to millions of dollars in the bank.

Yep.. Big difference between smoking ganja and eating Percocet like they're TicTacs.

Percy Harvin recently said that he never played a game where he wasn't high on weed.
