Mixed Martial Arts (Official Thread)

Bout 2: Brandon Vera vs. Assuerio Silva

RD1: Vera over Silva (Tap out--Guillotine)

Some good exchanges and Vera was the aggressor...Vera executed a good shot and slammed him hard, but the Guillotine was locked and Silva tapped quickly.

Bout 3: John Allessio vs. Diego Sanchez

RD1 --Best technical fight so far. Allessio played defense most of the first round and blocked all of Diego's takedown attempts.

RD2--Allessio with strong D again...frustrating Sanchez, who is the obvious aggressor. Cut above Sanchez's eye.

RD3--Entertaining. Sanchez was on Allessio's back (literally) for over 2 minutes. Sanchez ended RD3 with a flurry to Allesio's head...probably won the fight.

Either way the decision goes...neither was dominant.

Decision: Sanchez --unanimous

Gracie's arm bending backwards because of a Hughes arm bar was nasty. We thought for sure that he would tap out or it would break.

Other than that it was a pretty normal Gracie fight. He has used to get the hell beat out of him back in the day, but Hughes took him to his limit. I picked Hughes to win, but I got a little worried because Gracie led him right into his game. Hughes tried a few subs., which didn't do much, before gracie flipped onto his stomach. Hughes started to just pummel his hed with blows from both sides.

Big John stopped the fight when Gracie couldn't cover up any more.

Gracie looked like an old man, while Matt Hughes just out muscled him and eventually beat his face in

IM ALREADY EXCITED FOR ARLOVSKI-SYLVIA III
ARLOVSKI WILL KNOCK HIM OUT!

I cant wait to see the Shamrock-Ortiz fight. Anyone else see the ending of the fight where they showed Ortiz on camera and saying that he is going to beat Ken Shamrock's ass. I can't wait for that one, espically with all the hatred between the two.

I will be in Vegas that weekend and just checked for tickets to UFC 61, I can get floor level but they are $750.00 per ticket. Seems a little steep, although if Paris Hilton is there like she has been the last two PPV's I can probably get a hummer out of the deal too....

Ortiz vs Shamrock II
Arlovski vs Slyvia III

two awesome fights!

anyone else getting pumped and willing to shell out 40 bucks for this baby

Ever since UFC60 when Tito Ortiz told the cameras that he is going to kick Ken Shamrock's ass, I couldn't wait for this fight. I think it will be a blowout because Shamrock seems to be gettting up in years. I really hope that Shamrock beats the hell out of him though, a little payback from last time.
