Oiler Buck,

I don't want to kick him out for the dissenting opinion. He can actually stay in Columbus, just get off the local Airwaves and making money off of the central Ohio fans.

...Then don't listen. If no one listened to him, they wouldn't make money. Obviously enough of us have enough sense to know that he is an intelligent analyst and we don't get all bent out of shape when he doesn't kiss University butt.

I think all of us agree that the athletic department is getting out of hand and that we are practically handing ESPN top stories on a silver platter. If these players and boosters weren't so stupid...there would be no story. This whole incident is hardly Herbstreit's fault...and you can't entirely pin it on ESPN (although I think they've twisted a lot of stories to make things more "interesting").

Do us all a favor and find a new scapegoat.

IMO Herbie was as blatantly supporting OSU as a sports analyst could while making any attempt at being fair and balanced... I was extremely impressed at his efforts to defend OSU...

What's up with ESPN

I am troubled by the fact that ESPN News was hinting that both Geiger and Tressel could (or were going to) get fired as a result of the allegations. At least, Corso and Herbie responded that they would not get fired. What's up with ESPN? Are they just trying to create controversy?

I especially appreciated Lee Cornhole's "They've supplanted Miami and Florida State" comment. I think Herbie did fine, I just got sick and tired of listening to the same shit being drudged up while I was trying to watch the important drive at the end of the half. Wait until fucking halftime ESPN douchenozzles, so Trevie Trev and fatass can have at it, but at least let us watch the game.

I got the exact same message earlier in the thread when I tried to hit you up with some green. You should be scared that we're on the same page on all of these issues  .

I guess I just hate that we have to bash someone who has done nothing to harm the reputation of this program, while we sit back and say nothing about the people who have directly harmed it. Oh well, this was a sweet win and I don't feel like bickering with fellow Buckeyes for a couple more days. I'm too pumped for next year! :biggrin2:

I can't believe they ruined the last drive of the half, which could have been important, rehashing the same old shit that everyone already knew. But of course, it's worthy to cover on both halftimes, the entire second quarter of the game, lead on Sportscenter (they almost mentioned the outcome of the game), and have a Doogie Howser wannabe OTL exposition, all in the same night.

But then, ESPN has absolutely nothing to gain by going after Ohio State at all, right?

Never. They're journalists, not entertainers.
Well they were supposed to be anonoucers for tonights game which they we not for a least a 5 min section near the end of the 1st half. If I was an OkSU fan I would have been even more pissed. That was when OKSU was moving the ball.

If they want to try to act like Journalist durring there sports night or whatever they can try. But they are not journalist in any way. They only hype stuff that will help them and the ESPN ABC network.

If they were objective they would bring up the questions about MOC credibility in the story. Also that some of the other players claim they were misquoted.

They are nearing the level of Entertainment tonight on journalistic integrity. Plus Herb street, Corso and the other joker are broadcasters not journalist. I don't believe any of them have studied journalism.
