N.I.T. (Official Thread)

Some of this is familiarity (and losing the first 2 meetings), but Texas is all over TCU. Will they have the same intensity for Lipscomb?

Before dismissing the Bisons (yes, "Bisons"), Lipscomb beat TCU by 9 in Fort Worth early in the season. They shouldn't be intimidated.
Lipscomb-Texas is a David vs Goliath matchup of programs. I thought Texas was the best team in the NIT from the outset, and they will probably have too much quickness and athleticism for Lipscomb.

They should, as long as they're not overconfident. The talent difference is unquestionable, but they went 16-16 because their heads sometimes weren't in it.

I would say the record was moreso due to mediocre coaching and a brutal schedule, but they did have a few head-scratching losses. TBH, of all teams out there this year, Texas might have the most legit claim that they should play a weaker nonconference schedule because they probably could have padded their win total in nonconference and gotten in solely due to the strength of their conference wins.

If Texas defends the way they did against TCU they'll win easily. If they get caught up in a three point shooting contest they'll play into Lipscomb's hands.

Garrison Matthews averaged 39 points in Lipscomb's last 2 games but he's still looking for his first field goal tonight. Texas isn't going to let him beat them.

Lipscomb didn't play at home the entire tournament. They won at Davidson, UNCG, and NC State then beat Wichita State at MSG.

But Texas has too many athletes, as most suspected. Barring a frenzied three point barrage I don't see the Bisons making a comeback.
