Official BCS-CG Bulletin Board Thread

I love how 73% of the voters say stuff completely unrelated to Ohio State: BCS, other teams losing, and voters.

The other 27% though, Big Ten gets only a 7% (hahaha, so much for rough national perception), and that 20% (Weak schedule) probably is Colin Cowherd voting a million times.

ESPN Sportsnation poll question: Who is to blame if Ohio State plays in the title game:

-Voters 10%
-Top 5 teams losing 33%
-Big Ten 7%
-BCS 30%

Who let colin vote so much!:)

WTF, Who is to blame, like we are so sort of virus that someone let in the back door. How did we become CFB's enemy? The fact that this is even a poll is disrespectful. TOSU hate is at a all time HIGH.

Right now, it's pretty high. But if Missouri actually loses to Oklahoma, it'll get higher. And then if Ohio State were to lay an egg in a championship game against West Virginia, it would be at another all-time high.

Just imagine how much they would all hate Ohio State if we could have actually beaten Michigan in the 90s like we are now.

I heard Cowturd and Kiper this afternoon, and Kiper was praising tOSU for scheduling cupcakes. He acted like it happens every year. I wish I could have called and pointed out two these two !@^$#$^@@s that we just finished a home and home with Texas and have them set up with USC and Miami (hopefully they will be recovered by then if only for our sake)

Stupidity bothers me more than anything, ignorance is okay, but not being bright enough to know what ignorance is and spouting off on things you haven't researched is flat out stupid (and inexcusable)

Ah well these bozos will just keep the chip on the Bucks shoulders growing

The more and more I see out of the crap ESPN calls analysts the more I just get completley disgusted with the current state of sport's reporting. It is no longer people who actually have any facts to back up their arguments with that do the talking. It sounds more like regualr fans saying stuff.

That is why I still like Herbie so much. At least if he does say something negative about OSU (or anybody else) for the most part I have heard him back it up with some facts. Hell most of these idiots are making Corso sound smart.

Thank God, someone else that agrees with Herbie and likes him too. All of this hate right now that I keep hearing day after day, I can do nothing but just embrace it. If your getting this much critism(to put it lightly) 90% of the time you are probably a big deal and most likely very good. The only thing we have to fear right now is laying an egg in the NCG or the Rose Bowl. Screw the media and Go Bucks and Go Sooners! :oh:

Ohio State wasn't even an option in the poll, lol.

They were probably testing their listeners. The espn spinmasters must be saying, Wha' -- Weak Schedule should have garnered at least 67%! We are NOT driving the propaganda hard enough. More spin, more half-truths!!"

The media is slipping a little...

On the afternoon drive home, some ESPN radio guys were talking about that poll and they immediately dismissed the weak schedule thing! They mentioned that we had a home-home (their phrase for it) with Texas in 05-06 and had one coming up with USC the next two years. Even went so far as to say this year was an exception to the rule of ambitious scheduling for the Buckeyes.

Then on the College Football Live, they showed a question from a Buckeye fan that made a point that has been on these boards many times. To wit: If the Buckeyes are slow, why do they put so many players in the NFL. Here is the scary part though: Rece Davis' response to this was that the whole "Buckeyes are slow" thing is overblown!

Should we worry? I was really hoping that the media spin would be a constant drum beat of disrespect and derision. This can't be very motivating to the players. I mean, it's not like they have anything else to play for. Whatever will we do?

I'm convinced that the "disrespect" we seem to find is because so many of us on this board completely immerse ourselves in all things college football. When all I did to follow the Buckeyes was read the newspaper and watch the games I had little interest in how the Buckeyes were received in, say, the Tampa Fla. News, or anywhere else.

That is definitely part of it. And the fact that some of our less "urbane" fellow Buckeyes respond to every little thing written about OSU keeps some of it going.

But I'm racking my brain here and I can't remember a time when there was ever a poll on whose "fault" it was that some team or other made it into an NC game. To treat our impending (presumed) rise to the #2 spot in the polls as something just short of a National Tragedy does seem to be a bit much.

But as I've made very clear; I wouldn't have it any other way.
