All right, all right, all right.
It looks like we'll end up with the #3 pick. Offensive tackle is a popular pick by most fans, so I decided to look at the OT's that made the Pro Bowl this year, and in the recent past to see where they were drafted.
Willie Anderson (Bengals) - 1st round (10th pick) in 1996
Jonathan Ogden (Ravens) - 1st round (4th pick) in 1996
Tarik Glenn (Colts) -1st round (19th pick) in 1997
Walter Jones (Seahawks) - 1st round (6th pick) in 1997
Jammal Brown (Saints) - 1st round (13th pick) in 2005
Chris Samuels (Redskins) - 1st round (3rd pick) in 2000
Willie Roaf (Chiefs) - 1st round (8th pick) in 1993
Orlando Pace (Rams) -1st round (1st pick) in 1997
Brad Hopkins (Titans) - 1st round (13th pick) in 1993
Flozell Adams (Cowboys) 2nd round (8th pick) in 1998
Amazingly, only one tackle not drafted in the first round has made the Pro Bowl in the last 5 years. This confirms what many scouts and draft specialists say, the only way to get a franchise tackle is to draft one in the first round. This is one of the main reasons I would love to see the Browns draft Joe Thomas.
