Game Thread Ohio State at Michigan State, 11/19/16, 12p ET ESPN/WatchESPN

I agree, it will be a close and hard fought game. I'm not worried about JT. I am worried about our offensive game approach. The play calling is schizophrenic at best, has no rythmn, and makes no sense whatsoever. If it works, we stop doing it and if it doesn't work, well do it some more. It seems like Webber and Samuel disappear for long stretches. And where the hell has Noah Brown been? Did he even play today? Warriner and Beck are unable or unwilling to make in game adjustments based on what the defense is doing. The offensive line turtles against aggressive pressure defense and is missing any form of nastiness. If scUM comes hard at us like P$U and Sparty did....well.....
The play calling would be fine if 1) JT was throwing a good ball...he is not. I love him, but he is not. And 2) when he does throw a good ball, we seem to drop a few.

It isn't the play calling so much as the execution - especially today.

Have to disagree. We were moving the ball well on the ground on a number of drives, then inexplicably we start throwing. Totally threw off the rhythm of the drive.

I don't recall one Jet, any misdirection, or a counter play. I just don't think the OCs are utilizing the players effectively against the defensive schemes.

Again tough day to throw the ball. If you want to throw, it would have been a good day for short middle routes to Baugh and Noah. I think I saw one or 2 of those.

You can't just call runs all day long. It just doesn't work. Yeah it was tough, but this isn't anything new withJT. His accuracy is lacking.

Woody would like a word with you. You do it until they stop it and then go to something else and come back to it. Don't get me wrong I don't care that they threw it today, but you have to be smart about your plays on a day like today. JT was obviously struggling and yet the OCs insisted on forcing the issue.

This was a young, inexperienced Dline that we should have totally throttled today. But yet we struggled mightily and I put that directly on the coaches and the play calling. Again, where is the up tempo, where is the counter and misdirection. Where did Samuel go in the second half?

I have been a critic of the play calling durin the IU and PSU games. Today was not the same. I was fine with the play calling. I'm tired of this bullshit excuse that a pass cannot be completed in the wind. Sure the wind adds a little more difficulty but QBs all over the country are completing passes in the wind today and have for years. The sign of a good QB is when he can spin in it the wind.

JT can't. Hell his accuracy has sucked in no wind. He has to be able to hit guys in stride and he damn sure has to hit them when they are wide ass open and several times today he missed big on some open guys. It wasn't that damn windy.

It seems like the playcalling gets impatient. We are getting 4 and 5 yards a crack running Weber and Samuel but they try some bullshit instead of just mashing the other team. Woody used to love 3 yards and now we panic with 4 and 5. Keep that shit going. Keep a rhythm going and then play-action when they cheat to stop you. Simple gameplan and they need to stick to it.

Am I missing something about the criticizing of JTs accuracy? We had a ton of drops today.

Everyone keeps fond memories of his 2014-self. Statistically speaking, going into today he's having a better completion % than any of his other seasons, he's reduced his INTs by 60%, and he's on track to throw more yards than any season...
