Game Thread Ohio State at Oklahoma, 09/17/16 @ 9:00pm ET, FOX

Well this thread escalated quickly....

In all semi-seriousness, I'm stoked for this game. I'd imagine they are going to be aggressive running the ball up the middle on us, going to need a big game from Kwon. OU is very young on their OL and with Schiano wanting to be aggressive I think we're going to see some fun play calling. Booker, Worley, Hubbard, Lewis are going to have their opportunities and if we have success early that can really affect how they use Perine. Baker has a tendency to get banged up, tough kid but I expect him to get tested with some shots out there. With a young secondary the best thing you can do is be aggressive and attack to relieve them.

Defensively I think they have some real talented guys (Walker is my favorite - Thomas and Jordan in the secondary form a tough tandem also) but I don't think they have the depth and balance as a unit to play up to that level. I'll always believe that if Barrett is running the read option like he can that he is going to have them tripping over themselves. My hope is that with Noah Brown and Parris Campbell out there that the WR blocking is going to be at the level it was in 2014 and if it is.....we are going to have a ton of success. All the faith in the world in our OL holding up well, the only question is how Weber does more so from a pass blocking and pass catching threat standpoint.

I trust our staff more than theirs and who wouldn't....it's going to be a fun environment and a close one, but I'll take the good guys in this one.

I'll just say this. All the pressure is on OU. Coming off a playoff bearth. All that returning talent. At home.

If you can't beat the youngest team in CFB this year with all that going for ya.........
Yup. And if they do make it to the playoffs, can Stoops stop being terrible in bowl games and championships?

OSU got the monkey off their back two years ago in the playoffs. This year they hope to contend but they can easily lose in Norman and rebound. Oklahoma has a lot more pressure.

Ahh, but does OSU run the hurry-up "Air Raid" offense like Clemson or the Manziel-led Aggies??? Mike Stoops is no stranger to facing these high-powered spread offenses.

When Urban Meyer was at Florida, we held his offense far below their season average. Only problem was DeMarco Murray being out and it made our offense one-dimensional.

I don't think so. If you were Boise State instead of Ohio State, then yeah.."pressure" would be a good word to use in your argument.

If you keep it to discussion you'll be a welcome visitor. If you just came here to talk smack you'll be shown the door. Bucknuts is the forum for that drivel. I'm hoping you become the former.

Oh, and our band is unquestionably TBDBITL. The football team isn't bad either.
