Game Thread Ohio State @ Indiana, 08/31/17 @ 8:00 ET (ESPN)

Certainly a necessity in the passing game, it just seems like they're going to be really dependant on these type of shallow throws. I know it's only based on 1 game, but i really want to see consistent intermediate and deep throws. Otherwise its going to be really difficult to beat Bama/FSU, etc.

Historically that is correct, but we will have to wait until Saturday night to determine if that extends to this year. FSU's QB has more question marks than Barrett, despite his higher upside, and Bama is Bama but can Bama always be Bama?

After i watching the game I feel even better about the offense. J T Barrett had four passes dropped, threw away two passes, and also had a pass interference that was not called on Marcus Baugh as well in the endzone. What I saw was a quarterback who had poise and really was seeing the field well. Indiana must have been taking away the Deep throw with what they were doing schematically or I think we would have tried to go deeper down field

As for the corners. I really think they were well positioned basically every time but you have to credit Indiana for really good throws and extremely good catches. I don't think we are going to face a team again that is going to be willing to play the kind of game that Indiana presented us. Not just from a play calling standpoint but a Tempo standpoint as well. I have to say I actually was more impressed with the safeties then I originally thought. Overall the defense is going to be more than fine as we really won't see that kind of game plan again.

Again I have no idea how anybody can criticize an offense that really was making adjustments and executing better and better as the game went. Then to destroy a defense that is going to be one of the better defenses we play this year in the first game of the season should show any of us what we are capable of.

I feel even better after watching the game a second time.

couple last thoughts on IU:
  • why the fuck were the Iu fans doing the Gator chomp? Is a Hoosier some kind of chomping animal?
  • Chrisman looked great. a 45.3 YPP average on 6 punts will work. That was an area of concern coming out of fall camp.
  • Lagow, the QB was impressive but not nearly as impressive as his older sister (if you are into smoking hot six foot tall blondes that is)
