Spare me the talk about volleyball being for beaches and scantily clad women, take it to the Romper Room. :tongue2:

The mens team is playing in the MIVA championship game tonight at St. Johns vs. Loyola Chicago at 7pm. They'll be going for their fourth straight MIVA tournament championship after winning their fifth straight regular season title with an 11-1 conference record.

Wish I could make it out to C-Bus for the game, but gas prices dictate otherwise. Anyone else here follow volleyball? The 2008 Olympic team was a lot of fun to watch, and mens volleyball is a very competitive, overlooked sport at the college level. Unfortunately, those kitties out in Sappy Valley have been dominating the region at the level of the California teams. The Buckeyes are starting to come out as a powerful contender every year though, and they're exciting to watch.

Saw a local boy in the final four playing for Santa Barbara Gauchos.....against the Boys from Troy. Noticed that they would be playing the winner of Penn St and Ohio State for the National Championship......

Great job Volleybucks! Penn St is a regular winner, but I'm hoping that it's a 'go' this year. Santa Barbara is always a contender, and since UCLA is not playing, they've got a chance.

Happy for the Gauchos! I know several alums.... all sorority girls haha.

ESPN2... right now! Buckeyes coming out on fire and blocking everybody from PSU well except for one. 13-5 in the first set.
Now 19-13 first set. The only thing keeping PSU in this set is our 6 or so service errors to PSU's 3 or so.
OSU wins set one 25-18. OSU's blocking has been unreal.

PSU starting strong up 5-3 in the 2nd set, OSU storms back to 7-5.
PSU getting their blocking in order. PSU leading second set 14-12 now.
Tight set. PSU leading 20-18 after being tied at 18.
PSU just a little better that set, wins 26-24 on a illegal touch by OSU. 1-1

OSU started up 4-1, now 4-4. Gotta stay fundamentally sound.
OSU up 16-12, blocking is better. Hitting % better than set two.
OSU keeps going up by 3 or 4 but PSU keeps coming back.
Good perserverance! 25-22. PSU kept answering but ran out of time. 2-1 OSU leads!

PSU crowd trying to help the team rally. 9-9
PSU is gripping a bit! OSU leads 19-16. Our boys are out-executing theirs.
Sunder is keeping PSU in this, OSU down 20-21.
OSU regains the lead on what has been working all night... a block at the net. 23-22
OSU wins the set and match!!! 26-24, 3-1
