Game Thread Ohio State vs Nebraska, 11/05/16, 8:00pm ET ABC

This is my first post and probably my only post, I am one of many Cornhusker fans that want fans of "Thee Ohio State Buckeyes" to know that I watched the game from my Big screen TV in Nebraska like a majority of the people here did and I have to say first that I'm sorry that we did not make a good showing today, we were truly outplayed and out coached in every aspect of the game. I have to say that I have never really been a fan of OSU but i have never been a hater; you like NU have had your share of them. I guess the one thing I have always loved about OSU is that there are probably the only fans that hate Michicken as much as i do.
But tonight I saw a side of your team, coaches and fans that I rarely see anymore in football; i saw genuine concern for a downed player from an opposing side, when Tommy Armstrong went down all of Nebraska went silent, not for the ballplayer but for the man behind the helmet. I was amazed and impressed how concerned your stadium appeared to be when he went down. Thank you for renewing my faith in this game they call football; i still am a diehard Husker fan and I hope to someday soon be able to watch our team return the beating that we took today; but, know that there are many fans of Ohio State at least until they play the Huskers in many parts of Huskerland.
Now go, beat the Michicken Bloverines and unless we should happen to meet again this year.; win out and then take down the tide for the national championship. Good Luck.

God Bless

Thank you for your generous post. We all hope that Tommy Armstrong is back on the field next week. It is very hard to play two night games, go to overtime in the first, and have a full tank going in to the second game. Nebraska will be fine and they are lucky to have fans like you.

I have just watched the game. It was fun as it exploded wide open, but I saw something that is very concerning. JT Barrett has some real problems going vertical. My goodness, how many wide open throws did he miss? It wasn't WRs not getting separation. It was about missing wide open players.

I am not saying that Barrett didn't hit good passes. I'm saying that he missed something like ten passes that he should have made, several of which would have been touchdowns. Those are passes that he cannot possibly miss against TSUN.

I realize that some folks will argue that this was one of the toughest defenses in the country last night. Fair enough, but Buckeyes played a team that was tired by a tough, physical night against Wisky into overtime, playing a second night game against a ranked opponent, and playing more than half of the game without their QB. And Ohio State field position was unbelievably good overall.

Barrett makes those mistakes against TSUN and it's going to have serious consequences. I hope the coaching staff uses the next games to call plays that let Barrett and his receivers build confidence.

I agree. I'm not going to open the Tim Beck can of worms right now, but Freshman JT makes those throws no problem.

I also wonder how much this has to do with our highly inexperienced WRs. We have limited practice time, and developing the vertical passing game takes much more time and reps given the degree of coordination required between the QB and his receiver. Tough to do, with so many first time starters

I'll say this, it was refreshing to hear the 'Tommy' chants in the Shoe. Wasn't just from Husker fans either.
There were multiple on the way out, with his full name when he was at the south end and being loaded into the ambulance.

He got another one when he ran back and hugged his teammates.

OHIO STATE TAKES GIANT STEP FORWARD IN 62-3 STOMPING OVER NO. 10 NEBRASKA, SOMETHING URBAN MEYER DIDN'T SEE COMING

76294_h.jpg,qitok=X-dUF3r0.pagespeed.ce.G7Y1tk5a_r.jpg

The door barely shut behind him, and Urban Meyer exhaled as he grabbed the stat sheet from his 58th win as Ohio State's head football coach.

“Wow,” Meyer said. “I didn't see that one coming.”

That one was a 62-3 curb-stomping of Nebraska, the 10th-ranked team in America in front of a jam-packed Ohio Stadium and a mess of top-rated recruits. With struggles on offense leading to questions popping up all week about how—or if—the Buckeyes create explosive plays, the Buckeyes were more than impressive on Saturday night against the Cornhuskers.

Meyer joked with reporters and appeared in good spirits during press conferences previewing the game and providing updates on key developments with offensive creativity, play calling and everything in between this week.

In what is a common theme, however, his jovial attitude in front of the camera was not what Meyer felt while he pored over game tape and hit the practice field after the Buckeyes barely did enough to beat Northwestern at home 24-20.

“I was a mess,” Meyer said. “Because I just thought—I really thought this was going to be, get to the month of November, you know, top 10 team coming in here.”
